Travis, pull the Daytona forward in the row of cars about 2 feet.. then take another picture...  :icon_smile_big:

That is SOOOO funny you say that! When i backed the daytona in, the nose stuck out so far past the other cars, i had to pull ALL the other cars UP 2 feet so they would line up!!!

By the way, how does that Ram 1500 pickup handle towing that beast? It looks like there is a lot of tongue weight on the truck.
It pulls fine, gets decent fuel mileage, but i hate how bad it squats with a load.. I'm used to the older rams without coils and they sat level. I had to put a lot of tongue weight, my trailer was really too short(16') and i was already nervous about some of the car hanging off the back..

Not to change subjects but I put a pair of air bag helpers in my coils for these situations. Make a huge difference and while not meant to increase your carrying capacity it does a great job of levelling things out when your towing a load.

Leave it to Travis to find a sale.

Looks like a nice car, congrats.

Hey Travis, have you ever used a weight distribution hitch? I use one on my camping trailer & it reduces the tongue weight. You can actually see the back end of the truck lift up when you use it.   :Twocents:

Was it in Florida when you bought it?  I am about an hour northeast of Birmingham and 45 minutes north of Talladega, there is a guy that lives in my town that has/or had a red Daytona that he had bought years before the prices went sky high.  I believe his has a black vinyl roof if I remember correctly. I saw a red Daytona cruise through the intersection down from my house a few months back which I can only assume is his.

The family brought the daytona to florida after he passed away. He was from near birmingham, the car did not ever have a vinyl top though

Those helpers may be the way to go. Thanks for the tip!

Yes i have used a weight distribution hitch when i tow my travel trailer. It really helps! Never had to use one just towing a car on a single trailer. But i may have to. At night my truck headlights are pointing to the sky so i get flashed all the time as if i have my brights on or something. Very aggravating

I like the fact that the original owner went right out and bought it after the first Talladega race.  Who says "win on Sunday sell on Monday" doesn't work?   Congrats Trav.

I thought that was super neat. I met him at the Mopars at the Battleship show a while back and complimented him on his car, i wish i had talked to him more in depth. Who would have dreamed I'd later own his car. You just never know.
