My friends father drives a School Bus...has to head way up in the boonies to collect the kids, on the way....this happened!

You can see the bus, and what was a van....of course both died on the spot....but man, it was a good thing the bus didn't have the kids on board huh, that was just nasty!

That's all I keep thinking right now to get my head around it...empty school bus.....how does this shit happen!

charge69

That looks horrible!!  Prayers go out to both families here!  Thank goodness there was no children on the bus!

Ram07

Sometimes things just happen for no reason whatsoever. A horrific accident like this one will never make sense. It could have happened to any one of us. My prayers go out to you and the families and community for your loss.

Disregard Mr. Stroker.   :Twocents:

That bus accident sucks.   :-\

Sorry to hear of your friend.  :pity:

I work on School buses every day and as thick as the metal is on these buses there is no way burning fuel will get it hot enough to melt the sides like that. What in the world was that bus made of? Aluminum maybe?  It almost looks like one of those flimsy tour buses someone painted yellow and made it into a school bus. Very illegal here in Ohio.

I'm sure Stroker didn't mean anything bad by what he said, I think he was just being realistic... which can seem brutal at times.  :Twocents:

I don't see what Stroker posted being any worse than posting up the pic of a double fatal wreck.  :icon_smile_blackeye:
wingless now, but still around.

Ram07

Sorry for posting the pic...was in a local newspaper thats where I got it from.

The bus was one of those van type buses, a short bus.

Apologies to Stroker.

Tilar

You didn't have to take the pic down, you should put it back up. Emotions run high when a friend dies, and from the other side of the screen it's sometimes hard to say something that is actually comforting and not over-used.

Back on the subject of the bus though, if this is an actual school, someone needs to check to see if the law really allows that type of bus to be used to haul school children to and from school. The only time they can be used around here is on a field trip for like the FFA or another organization that pays for it themselves and doesn't come from school funds.  What I'm trying to say is there may be criminal liability issues with the school board for allowing these to be used as bus transportation because they are not safe at all, as you can see from the picture you posted.

Ram07

Was one of these....a lot of them here, used for the rural areas.

Tilar

Bluebird body on a Chevy frame. Wasn't quite what I pictured but to see it melt like it did makes me wonder... While I don't make the final decision I do have a lot of input on what is bought, and I wouldn't consider one of those for our school.
