It's getting hot! Vapor Lock issues

So my charger is vapor locking when it's over 80 outside and moving slow or restarting when hot!  I'd rather not block the heat crossover or add a spacer due to choke functionality issues.  Has anybody found that switching to non-ethanol fuel (if available) has improved things?  If that doesn't help I may need to block the heat crossover.  I just hate doing that because my car NEVER warms up in the spring and fall so the choke never disengages.  Ideas????  Stock 383 with a Carter AVS.  Thanks!

Where are you located?  I'm in Alaska and I never use the choke, and sometimes I drive it in the Winter.  0 degrees F sometimes colder.  At any rate I have the heat crossover blocked

Are you running the stock heat choke?  How long does it take for it to disengage?

Yea, same here. Big Blocks don't need a choke to start.  I'm thinking your carb is acting up.

Had a similar problem with my 383. Fuel line/gas filter was too close to the headers. When it was stopped or shut off after running on a warm day I was boiling the gas in the gas filter making it hard to start and very sluggish on acceleration after a traffic light stop.

Manual choke, but it is not connected to anything.  Sometimes I have keep the idle up for a minute or so but after that it runs fine

I bought a carb spacer and will adjust the timing to hopefully cool down exhaust temps.   Also heard running some lead additive may help.

I have an electric choke and it works fine with a spacer and blocked off crossovers.

Change your valley pan for the one that doesn't have the heat bypass openings punched out.

Also Carter's can run too lean and that could be a problem too. :shruggy:
