only made a couple of issues and then folded ,was a few years before we got Chrysler action  , don't go looking for it if your into "stock " cars as everything is modified . Ozzie's seem to be stuck in the 80's /street machine period!

Yeah Chippa, we have Chrysler Action but only if you know where to look, I don't get it much if at all. Even talked to the Ed to do the odd local NZ based article for him as I've done a few for a local monthly but the Ed would forget which story he had told me evry time I spoke to him and his viewpoint kept shifting so it went nowhere .ha

Ghoste, there was a few issues of Hey Charger magazine printed but it was a long time ago, just probably didn't sell enough or have enough universal appeal so it folded

That's right mate and it's just as well otherwise prices would go through the roof.

i actuly prefer the vj-vk grills .i'v owned one of each ,different strokes an all that i spose       allmost identical to this -  vj sportsman 265 4speed gold with brown/tan intrior

I sent a 318 CL charger over to the US years ago , drove it from Los Angeles to  Texas , got a lot of WTH is that your driving ,it was a mini car show stopping to get gas , the right hand drive had people scratchin there head , sold it , it has since sold again not sure where it ended up .

I would say yes  , most people would prefer a V8 over the 6 , but then you get a lot of people who love the Hemi 6 , myself i prefer the v8 , a buddy has a CL charger with a blown 360 in it , 4 speed , there have been a few down here that have a fitted 440's into them .

yea the later cl-cm got a 318 4 speed combo that's not bad ,the VH-VJ-VK 340 e55  are collectors cars not in the same league as the r/t 6 pack cars but they never made that many of them. the 360 VJ were all autos, you see a lot more 318 cars or 318 cars that have had a 360or stroker motor swapped in

Ahh, not completely. I would say that the E series 6pk cars definitely get restored, but pricewise they are just completely out of financial reach for the usual guy in the street, so the base models more often than not get turned into 6pk clones or tributes and a lot of guys would do v8 conversions to the 6cyl stockers .
There's still quite a following for them in stock form though

This tough as nails fisherman Big Mike from nelson at the top of the south island drove his VH 493 4speed stroker Charger up on a Friday night, got the ferry over then up thru the night to a Mopar nationals at meremere dragway in the north island, raced it on Saturday did a string of 12.2's and drove it back Sunday. Was heard to mutter, "that'll show those damn aucklanders" ha, it was about 1400kms!!
