71 Gran Coupes missing the motors can be worth six figures

1971 71 Plymouth Barracuda Gran Coupe, very rare. Needs total restoration. Has been garage stored for over 20 years. Originally a 383 2bbl. I don't have that engine. I do have a 440 if you want it. Much of the car is disassembled so it's ready to be worked on. It could be restored to a Gran Coupe, or turned into a Cuda.

I've owned for 18 years, and am reluctantly giving up the dream, especially since once restored it's value will push six figures.

Buyer will need a big trailer, or make multiple trips. LOTS of parts to send with you. Best news is I have the original grille, which is in excellent condition.

Panels don't need replaced, but do need work. Floor pans need replaced. Engine and transmission need rebuilt.

Price is firm. Cash only. This car just needs a some money and time, and it will be an extremely valuable car.

Some buy into the hype that anything Plymouth from the 1970-74 E-body camp with dual headlights just HAS to be worth money and is some kind of 'Holy grail' or something.

It's just another low perf. car that is cloned up as a 440 "HP" car. I do not see 6 figures.

If 1971 Cuda's were my thing (Which they are not), I'd all over that especially, with all the other parts.

Yeah, if you ignore the get rich quick come on's and the firm tag (I hate that, if you have a firm price you  need for the car raise the asking price 10% and let some fool "talk" you down) it could be a great deal for someone.

Possible, but I'm pretty sure he is referring to the numbers on the 'left' side of the decimal. After all, @ $9,999.99, he's almost asking fully restored price @ $8500.00....

I, myself, would have to agree.  Don't know what it looks like under the paint, but if I wanted a 71 Cuda, this would be a good one to consider.

Not a bad project & I think the price isn't out of line, but you really need to see it in person or have much better photos of more places on the car. I sold my base model, Barracuda just a few years ago for $8000 with lots of good used parts, new parts & a couple of NOS parts. It was originally a 318 but had a 400-4V swapped into it that needed a rebuild. Based on his description I think it's in about the same shape as the one I sold.

It was mostly complete but it definitely needed a driver's quarter, a trunk floor & some other minor sheet metal work. If I wasn't buried in car & house projects I'd have kept it.

I sold a 72 Challenger that was a roller basketcase that had 71 doghouse and tail lights, clean rust free car for $5000 2 years ago, I don't think this 71 Barracuda is all that out of line in the asking price. Those grilles were nuts at one time although I think they repop them now for around a grand. I remember seeing a NOS 71 Barracuda grille at the Mopar nats back in 2000 and the guy had $4000 on it.

Sorry guy, actually was referring to all who seem to love the 71's (not just you, but can see where you could draw that conclusion and I'm sorry) over the 1970.  Just something bout the 1970 that turns my crank. I don't see 6 figures as stated out of a low perf car, but Could certainly see many picking the '71 though.
