the wiper arms quit working on my 78 new yorker. it seems the plastic bushing where it attaches to the wiper motor has broken. Does anybody know where I can find one? The car has unfortunately been brought back out for daily driving due to other vehicular issues, but now with no wipers it makes life very difficult! The part has 2 numbers I can see on it, but I did not find anything from them. they are 58622 on top, and 3799183 below it. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

here is a couple pics of it.

No, I don't. I'd be willing to bet you'll find a serviceable replacement in a pre-94 truck or van,  though. Trucks make great parts donors for old cars.

I can't open your links on my phone but do they look like these bushings in this you tube video I made? I know these fit most everything from at least the early to mid 90's and back to maybe as far as the late 70's.

If so they are still available from mopar. Most use 3 cupped bushings and 1 with a hole. Part numbers are Mopar Part #5211015 (hole)
3799089 (cup)

Ebay unfortunately. Was on there the other day and there they were. Also, the truck thing works too as my local dealer had 'em in stock and they fit a BUNCH of older cars. Ever notice how many things on a mid 80's Dodge truck is the same as on older musclecars?

Only makes sense as that bodystyle first came out in 1972, pretty unbelieveable Dodge ran it all the way through 1993!
Sold my Charger unfortunately....never got it finished.

Yeah pretty epic, although I think they ugged it up pretty bad there towards the end.

The 70's pickups are still some of the best looking trucks ever made.   I'm personally a sucker for a late 70's power wagon.

unfortunately, the ones i need i found out are actually a 1978 only item. apparently its different. So now I'm on the lookout for a wiper linkage for a 74-77 C body of some sort to replace mine.

Indygenerallee

You have a picture of it? I have a big box of misc. wiper motors I might have one.

I found a picture, on the link I'm going to attach. Apparently a guy did make them, but he stopped, and nobody bought an extra they would be willing to part with.

So I am still looking, with no success.  :brickwall:

I also found a resident old timer at the parts department of the local dealership. He told me when they used to have to replace them chrysler never sold the individual bushing. They sold a new arm with the bushing installed with the part number 3799442.
