Only Hemi cars got resonators. With the exption of no door emblems, it sure looks like a Hemi car, but then again, the emblem between the tail lights and roof emblem are also missing. Could this be the famed XP car?

On a related note, to be original, looks like I have to paint my gas tank orange and #475 on my rear end, mufflers, gas tank & tail stripe.  


Edit: After looking at the video, I don't see the K-frame wedge hanging down either.

Pic # 10 looks like a 4sp trans case. But could be auto with bell hsg. broke off. Would be nice to know if it was just pulled off the assembly line or pieced together for the test.

perhaps its  all one in the same car , that just built it up in different configurations to see whats what with different options & how it went together   , before the production run started

 

the charger in the crash test #475  rightly  MTD pointed out the K frame deal ,  doubt they would of driven a hemi into a wall  , would they   , could of easily swapped out the Hemi with its K frame  , for a wedge set up  maybe  
475 , bronze with a white top ,  has rear torque boxes , &  resonators , also an 8 & three quarter rear , the  infamous  bronze XP hemi car  ,  had whats looks to be Hemi trans cooler lines & the brass connector in one picture    & Hemi autos came standard with a 8 3/4 rear  ,  i'm just throwing a few ideas & scenarios out there , pure guesses  
doubt we will ever know  , unless any records surface as to  what on back then , the amount of data they must of loged & pictures etc , wonder where its all at ,  don't say that went up in flames like all the 68 & up vin number record  information etc that supposed to have done !!!   or any old time chrysler guys , can remember what went on ,  find it starage  how popular   mopar muscle cars are  & the loyal following  , its a wonder   more old time chrysler guys have not come out & spoke about what went on , i realise lots of these guys , who are still around are getting on in their years now , but even in the early 1980s , i'm sure their would of been just as much interest in what they had to say , just as much as it would be today ,  think i'm getting a bit carred away & straying off topic

im not sure what it was like then, but from a man i spoke to from a research facility they crash the heaviest version of a car, as a worst case scenario thing. if a car is available in both a 4 cylinder and a v8 configuration, the v8 would be chosen since its heavier, with that said, wasnt the hemi with an auto the heaviest version available?

yes makes sense , more damage with a heavy car , hemi charger auto heaviest i believe , would like to see curb weights side by side ,   with a loaded 440 auto with air & power steering etc  though

tried to enlarge the leaf spring shackle area ,  cant see the hemi only reinforcement plates , if  *475 * had them would the shackle move that far rear wards   thinking not  , but yet as mentioned it has  rear torque boxes
