Is there any way short of checking the timing at 5500
to identify bad orange boxes?

We purchased ours quite a while ago and haven't installed yet,
I would like to avoid replacing after the fact is discovered.

I still have the conversion pack box, but can't see any date on it.

The part# is 23690428, is that any clue?

Thanks, Joe

sorry, I don't have the knowledgement to tell you that..

PN seems very long to me. It should be 7 digits I think.

anyway I can tell you orange boxes are designed to go up to 6000, so 5500 could be begining the curve down ? dunno

Thanks Nacho, that part # was for the whole kit, the box itself has #4120505??, numbers are a little
smeared, also under those numbers are: 0026?? also a little smeared.

I think I bought this kit in the late 80s or early 90s.

What I may do is leave that one in the engine compartment and splice wires to a race only box in the passenger area,
then switch which one I use at the track.

Should work???

mmmm If you find a switch to change al 4 wires at the same time for one to another AND  make the change with ign key off, I can't see why won't work.
