I was wondering where the engine grounding strap goes on my 1968 charger. I see that some years have a strap from the manifold to the firewall by the voltage regulator. But on my 68 there is no hole to mount the strap. Pictures would be great. thanks in advance

Yup, that's where mine is.  Manifold to firewall near the voltage regulator...   :2thumbs:

Or also the back of the head to the firewall, is a good place too... make sure it's a clean rust free, dirt free, grease free surface, both sides & use some star washers & some dielectric grease on the connections/under the strap, to keep out moisture & rust/corrosion...

If you look in that photo there is a blot hole in the very back of the intake surface area way at the back, I've seen them there also... They are usually an open flat braded type ground strap too, not the rubber coated battery cable type, if my memory serves me well... I could be mixing up years thou...

I agree but here are some pictures of mine.  The pictures were taken at different times.  The end of the GREEN wire that went to the firewall was disconnected when the picture of the attachment to the head was taken.  I am the original owner of this car so I believe the configuration is original.  I have since removed the engine and Transmission.

Hey guys , just why we are on this subject , what about when you running all alloy top end , is that considered a good earth, ? I have connected this earth strap to valley pan bolt, but what about battery earth lead, where have you guys with alloy heads connected this , also the alternator field earth, ?

Same place for me, I have Edelbrock RPMs & Mopar 383/479ci-6bbl intake both aluminum, no issues, I always use an extra, a engine to body ground under my CEI ignition box on the firewall, engine to K-member ground & a battery to body ground {my battery is in the trunk}, having better grounding can save problems with some electrical issues/shorts etc., searching for ground is usually the biggest problem, the shortest path of resistance is the best... IMHFO it's cheap insurance & make for better working charging system & overall electronics, like electric fuel pump, electric water pump {Aluminum Housing} & electric cooling fans, lights etc.
