Jason, great looking Charger!  :2thumbs: Glad I was of some help ;) The AMX is what finally killed the fire in me! I could not butcher the car and tried to do it right. So I took longer than I should have and never received a dime for the work. Plus I lost around $400 too $700 in my own materials.  :flame:

Daytona RT SE, yea, I got a Big Boy as well.

Robert, there is time for both hobbies, money and energy on the other hand?  :shruggy: The trains is something I enjoy anytime I am at home, I am running them as I type. Road Runner, well I have enjoyed the time I have spent on it so far, will enjoy  making her pretty again and driving her. But the days of Drinking Cam 2 and driving her, well that over! Now drinking Cam 2 and running the trains, that is just fine with the law!  :2thumbs:

I have one last train deal to pay for. I have 11 Proto 2000 and Atlas engines coming from a friend that I know from the train site for $268.00 with shipping. That is a great deal, used on E Bay they go for $40 to $60 each. After that any extra money I have will go into the Road Runner, and there won't be much.

Neil, god it great to see on the site! I am guessing your old phone number is no longer good? Other wise I would call you!

See you all later, Cuda Ken

Bryan, I love the places and still after 7 years enjoy just looking around. I still all so enjoy buying!  :shruggy: What can I say, I am a train junkie!  :icon_smile_big:

Plan of attack for Tuesday!

1 Get the darn trunk open one way or another! See what lost treasures are in there!

2 Find my darn 13/16 box end wrench so I can start pulling plugs and oiling the holes.

3 Find my floor jack, and see if it still works!

I wonder if my carpet is wet again? When I got in the car a few weeks ago the front carpet and passenger side carpet where damp. I found I had left the vents open and hoping that is why. Carpet has been dry for a few days now, even after some rain.  :2thumbs:

Well today it poured, street was all most covered, from what my wife told me. If the carpet is still dry, that is a super big plus!  ;)

See you all Tuesday!

pull out rear seat, crawl through and open trunk from inside....or use a long flat blade screwdriver if ya can't get through

Bryan

thats what i said when i was over there, but ken told me there is a very large tool box in there that may be hard to move around to get to the rear. so i said just drill it out then. he does have another trunk lock ready to go back in. :2thumbs:

just a note here....years ago I put my key in the trunk lock of my 66, it was the correct key...but it would not turn. I soaked the lock with PB Blaster for a couple days..it finally broke loose and has worked fine ever since. I think the reason it froze was I never really used the key lock because I have a vacuum trunk release and always used that to open trunk....

Maybe he has the right key and lock is just rusted or dirty?

Been a interesting and somewhat disappointing day.

Just before I left to head to a friends shop to uses his parts washer (Road Runner Parts) a newer Ford F-150 pulled up. Fellow stepped out and introduces him self as Al. Seems he left a note last night on the door about buying the Road Runner.

I invited him into the garage and we talked a while. I like what he said about what he wanted to do with the Runner if I where to sale her, well till he started talking about painting her a Ford Color with Metal-flake!  :eek2: All so said he would keep her till the day he died, told him that was my plan as well!  :nana:

He was not a tire kicker, at one point he laid out $5,000 in cash in front of me. Then he offered me some HO train stuff (old stuff I don't need) and bumped up the offer by $200.00 more!  :scratchchin: Well I still have the keys, but I am going to keep his number.

Got the intake and valve covers clean. They look better in person I will add.

Got the rear seat out, how the heck did Maple Tree seeds get under it? Well I can tell you one thing, there is no way in heck I am getting the trunk open that way! I would not fit through that V bracket when I was 17! Plus, I have some well smoked tires and wheels in the trunk as well.

http://s83.photobucket.com/user/cudaken/media/Charger%20Site/06-18-3_zps0fd1cec0.jpg.html]

Stuck the camera in with the flash on to see what was in there, I saw chrome!  :2thumbs:

http://s83.photobucket.com/user/cudaken/media/Charger%20Site/06-18-5_zps8e65f4bc.jpg.html]

Yep the air cleaner is in there. All so saw some braided steel lines as well!

When I pulled the rear seat, I found a build sheet!

http://s83.photobucket.com/user/cudaken/media/Charger%20Site/06-18-2_zps8ac37e7a.jpg.html]

Not sure if it is mine or not, I think it is out of a 68 Charger I got the seats out of in around 1976. But, it looks like it has been moved, so I might have swapped the build sheet.  :shruggy:

In 1986, I had the car seats redone to look like the Deluxe Interior my Runner came with except they are buckets, not a bench seat.

What is the best way too force open a trunk?

Can you see the latch?

If so...

Put a socket on the end of a long 1/2  square steel rod

(a little tape keeps the socket from falling off)

Clamp a vise grips on the other end of the rod.

Reach in and unscrew the two bolts holding the latch.

Open trunk.

that idea sounds the best. :2thumbs:

It's easy once you've got the back seat out.

I've done it dozens of times.

I'm too fat to fit through the braces...

And the Ol' lady just won't crawl through raccoon shit anymore. :shruggy:

Far the carpet, it is damp, but not soaked on the drivers side  :-\ , passenger side is still dry.

Far as seeing the latch? Did you see the sizes of that tire, and it is still on a mag wheel!  :P Looks like it is drilling time.
