Well, have not touched her for going on 2 weeks again. :brickwall: When I am in the mood, I have other things to do. When I have nothing to do it is either to hot or I am not in the mood.  :shruggy:

Sues health is not helping either. She is really not doing any better. She has lost another 12 pounds in the last 6 weeks. :'( The Doctors are starting to test her for cancer. Well, at this point I just hope they find out what is wrong! You cannot fix it till you know what is broken!

Far as my Foot Ulcer? :2thumbs: While the wound is still there, it is really starting to heal!

Jim, Allen any chances you might be able to come over Monday? I need a little push right now!  :shruggy: Making the engine pretty and running was fun!  :D Stopping leaks, fixing electrical problems is work, not fun!  :-\ So I need a little push.  :shruggy:

I can get a Sunday off if we plan a week or so ahead! :coolgleamA: Let me know what day would work for you and I will get it off.

I hope to pull the carb and install a new accelerator pump diaphragm so I don't drink gas by mistake again.  :eek2: Get the wiring harness off. All so want to dig out the Left Fender I have been storing in the pool shed for the last 23 years and see what kind of shape it is in. Then there is the left replacement door I bought 15 years ago, stored outside.  :brickwall: Heck there is still a 2 gen right door sitting out there?

Thanks Wicked, I need a boost right now. :shruggy: Started thinking about selling her again?  ::)

Well when Jim gets back from vacation maybe that will be the shot in the arm I need. Far as Allen?  :scratchchin: I sent him a PM last week and have not heard back from him? Just hope I have not made him mad some how.

I have not touched her scenes the 6th. Need a kick in the ass at this point. Besides the leak, I do not want to mover her around the block with out a chase / pusher back up vehicle or person to help!

Just got off he phone with Allen, he just been busy.  ;D

While I did not work on Miss Lumpy, I did start her up tonight and ran her for about a hour. I see it will be a long up hill battle!

1 Weird problem. If I let the car sit, when I pull the dipstick it is covered with black gunk. Wipe the did stick off and check again oil is clean?  :shruggy: This has happened 4 or 5 times now. You would think the gunk would have been cleaned out of the tube by now.

2 Using a glass fuel filter and fuel pump cannot keep it full at higher RPM's. I all so see bubbles coming into the filter. And as they would say on Road Kill looks like the bottom on a fish bowel! Well I knew that was going to happen.

3 Gas still stinks and look yellow. Guess Jim and I did not get all the old gas out.

4 Engine is burning oil, it was a quart low tonight. Plus when I rev her up, I see blue smoke. I think the oil rings are stuck and hope with some run time it might clear up.:scratchchin: Maybe with some Restore will help?  :shruggy:

5 Have a new clicking sound and not sure what it is. Could be valve train (Sure Hope it is not a lope going flat) but I am more inclined to think it is the start of of a header gasket leak.

But she lives, fires right up so I am still happy!  :2thumbs: I all so have good oil pressure at idle, 20 pounds works for me.

See you all later, Miss Lumpy and Ken.

With some luck, I am going to try to get her around the Block Tuesday solo. Lets just hope she does not catch fire or need a flatbed, a mere wrecker would be below her!

Wife is feeling much better so that worries me :scratchchin: Afraid she will find the energy to make a Honey Do List.  :scratchchin:

Had another note on the door today wanting to see if she is for sell. Going to call him for the heck of it!

Boy it has been awhile, seems the last time I messed with Miss Lumpy was around the end of September?

Last time I drove her when Jim was here, she was smoking pretty bad. I don't think I posted this video just, well I was embarrassed?  :shruggy:

http://s83.photobucket.com/user/cudaken/media/She%20Lives/Smoking_zps837ece10.mp4.html

Sure not how I remember her!  :brickwall:

I felt pretty good today and it was Beautiful fall day and got a wild hair up my ass. So I started her up, I was only going to warm her up some and blow off the leaves.

Ron (Firefighter) and I talked about the smoking and the Transmission fluid leak Miss Lumpy has. Ron suggested getting some Lucas Transmission treatment and see if that took care of the trans leak. So while I was warming her up, I added the Lucas.

Ron and I all so spoke about the old trick of running some transmission fluid down the carb to help reseat / unstick the rings while she was running. Ron all so said he would add half a quart to the engine oil has well. So while I was at it, dump some ATF in the oil and ran some down the carb at a fast idle. While I was pouring it is, I heard a real odd sucking sound, but it cleared up pretty quickly.

She seemed to be running OK, so I decide to try to take her around the block one time. My block is a 1/4 mile around. She seemed to run OK, kept her pretty much at a idle in second gear. She was smoking, but there was no white trans fluid smoke like in the video. Right rear brake sort of stuck like in the video as well, but only did it one time.

Well made it the first time, hum lets try it again! :scratchchin: Second trip (now up to a half a mile and 3/4 of a mile in 8 years ) was pretty much the same as the first trip. 3rd time I gave her a little gas and she started smoking pretty good.  :shruggy: What can you say, slept for 8 years.

Decide to keep going, hell if she stopped running I call a darn tow truck! Couple of the neighbors that remember her has a daily driver saw me taking her around. Got some grins and thumbs up. Newer neighbors wife next door looked stunned when see saw her moving! :D

Car rode like it had square wheels and is a bitch with out power steering. But I kept on going. All so pulls to the left, could be a brake hanging up some or the tires. :shruggy: At this point I don't care, she rolls!

After 8 times around (2 miles) she was not really smoking that bad so I decide to flog on her a little. Pulled 1st and gave her about a 1/4 throttle and she sound good! But she smoked again, not awful but did smoke. Made another trip and again pulled 1st and gave her 1/4 throttle again, not as much smoke.

Goosed the gas a few times on a roll and she sat me back in the seat great! :coolgleamA: After I drove her 3 miles most of the smoking was over! Just a whiff from the right bank when I gave her gas. I was pretty darn pleased.

At this point I was starting to worry about how much gas I had left so I decided not to push my luck and the need of a tow truck. Pulled her into the drive, then I thought  :scratchchin: "I wonder if she can get rubber?"  :D I gave a 1/4 throttle again from a standstill and she ripped the hides!  :2thumbs: Backed her up and did it again, it sure felt good! She has marked her domain for the first time in 8 or 9 years? Did not light them up, facing the garage door and still do not fully trust the brakes yet.

Pretty good day for old Cuda Ken!

Great news Ken!

Either way it works out for you. I hope you don't sell, but a running and driving car brings more money if you decide to go that route. (Don't do it!!!) :icon_smile_big:

I have to admit, I had thought about selling her again. :'( With her being stuck outside she might as well be 100 miles away at times. :shruggy: But yesterday did us both a world of good!  ;)

While I cannot say I was not grinning ear to ear (I am still worried something major might fall off or go boom) we booth enjoyed our self's!  ;D. Plus I have just a tad more confidantes in her, not a lot but some.

Once I get her in the garage and I can start the bodywork, I will be happy!

I did contact a train friend to see if Simon and his sons can come by and help pack up all the train stuff. Packing up the trains is a daunting task in its own right! You cannot just throw them in a big box and call it done! Stuff is fragile and each pieces needs to be wrapped. There are over 300 rolling stock, not counting engines, buildings and trees.

Then the is there is the garage door! :brickwall: Well, I think I can rig something up?  :scratchchin:

I hope Allen or Jim can make it by half way soon.
