Why thank you R/T Green.

Well got some more things done.

1 New Fuel lines on the Holley 750. Check

2 Holley Carburetor cleaned out.  Check

3 750 Holley installed. Check

4 Fuel Line installed to Carb. Check

5 Right Valve cover installed. Check

6 Stabbed the distributor, well sort of check.  :shruggy:

I did get the above done and not total happy. Need to reroute the wiring harness so it goes under the top Alternator bolt. It is wiring harness is hitting the base of the Distributor making it hard to turn. All so need to move the rout of the fuel line to the other side of top Alternator bolt.

On the distributor, well something is not index right? :shruggy: If Cooter and Ron are right my rotor should be facing #1 hole. But, it was pointing to #7?  ::) Flipped the shaft and it was now pointing to #2. Funny thing, is that is about where #1 is on the cap. After I reroute a few things I am going to see if I can move the distributor freely, if I can, what the f#$k.  :coolgleamA:

Now the money shoots!  :2thumbs:

She just did not look like Miss Lumpy with out the air cleaner!

What is left to do.

1 Reroute a few things.

2 Decide how to wire the distributor cap.

3 Hook up the harness wire to the coil, and distributor wire to the coil and find the coil wire to distributor cap.

4 Get Allen and Jim over and give her hell!  :2thumbs:

Cuda Ken

PS, Just a reminder of the mess I started with.

Funny you happen say that Daytona R/T SE. :smilielol:

Back in the good old days when she had the 63 426 Maxie Wedge on a Saturday I was playing with the carb's at my old body shop in Indianapolis in the parking lot. When I was done, I light the hides for the fun of it as I pulled her into the shop!

About 5 minutes later IPD and the Fire Department pulled into the parking lot! Someone called and said my shop was on fire!  :smilielol: :2thumbs:

Only smoke I expect to see is off the headers at this point! But you never know!  :scratchchin:

right or wrong ken, what I used to do if I was indexing a bottom gear and dist. was to cut off the fuel and hook up my timing light. I would turn it over and watch the timing pad to see where I was at.

Just a small up date.

Remember when I said the right front wheel was locked up due the rusted upped brake rotor? I had her up in the air and it would not turn. When I took her out of gear she did not roll?  :scratchchin: (driveway has a slant)

Tonight I decide to enjoy a few  Cam 2's while sitting in her. Pulled the pistol grip shifter down, and she rolled back a few inches!  :2thumbs: Hit the brakes and she stopped! :2thumbs:

So she can roll and still has brakes! Does life get any better than this?  :smilielol:

Cuda Ken, getting ready to smoke them  again!  :2thumbs:

I have to ask. being a cam 2 lover, what brand of cam 2's do you prefer?

Free Cam 2 is the best! :smilielol: If I m buying I am a Milwaukee's Best Light Man.  :2thumbs: I use to be a Miller Lite Man than a friend got me to do a blind taste test. I could not tell which was which so I switched.

I don't know is Sunday will happen or not. :shruggy: I work Sunday but I do get off at 5:00 PM and if I get to work at the store that is by me (10 miles) I could be home by 5:30 PM. Big thing is what I get done Friday, my next off day. Have another Skin Graft, have to do some running for BoS and cut the grass.

Only real worries at this point is Electrical Stuff, bad ballast, bad condenser, bad points, bad coil and so forth. I still have a lot of spares but have no idea if they are still good either?  :shruggy:

One question you folks can likely answer. If by chances I need to hot wire Miss Lumpy, just run a wire from the + side of the battery to the + side of the coil right?  :scratchchin: I don't think I have ever had to do this before, but the under dash is 45 years old.  :shruggy:

Cuda Ken

if you have to hot wire it, yes, run from battery to "+" side of coil....or better yet, run to ballast resistor that only has one wire on it...that way it will save yer points & coil from full charging voltage

Well do I have anyone coming to man the Fire Extinguisher?  :smilielol:

Little up date on the Skin Graft and Foot Ulcer. Now that I have the new job the wound on my right foot is getting smaller! :2thumbs: They think at the rate it is healing, 2 to 3 more skin grafts the wound will be gone!  :coolgleamA:

Didn't I read where you poured oil down the cylinders? That will send some smoke signals for a few minutes. Oh and definitely video this, I've kept up with your posting and I'd like to see it when you light the burners on that 383.

that would be cool if you made a video of this. I also have been following this, and it has been a motivator for me to get off my ass and do something with mine.

I called Allen and left a phone message and my work number so he can let me know if he is coming by after I get off work.

Just pulled the distributor, oiled up the top bearing plate and lube the points. Cleaned the spider nest out of the distributor cap and cleaned all the terminals.

Should take 1/2 hour to stab the distributor and run the wires!

Might be show time when I get home!  :popcrn:

Well, today was not the day.  :-\ Never heard from Allen (41 Husk) or Jim. Well she has slept this long so why get in a hurry now? I would really like to have someone here when I start her. I could use a second pair of eyes watching for gas leaks and fires from the oil on the headers. I would all so like to make a video of her coming back to life, and someone to share the moment with and have a few Cam 2's!

I all so seemed to have missed places a few things I need.  :brickwall: Cannot find the feeler gauges I bought to check the points or the Zinc additive for the oil!  :shruggy: Bought them and the break in lube on the same day as the spark plug gab ring thing.

I was going to start Miss Lumpy with out the Zinc additive, I am going to do the first oil change soon after I start her. I decided to PM Ron (Firefighter) and he said not to, add the Zinc first. Guess I going to have to get all of the empty Cam 2 cans out of her so I can find the stuff!  :smilielol:

Maybe Monday, I am off.
