Bud, it was the thing to do back then, all so the cars where cool, but they where far from being a collector item. You could still buy running cars for say $1500.00 that where nice cars. Plus it did what I wanted, got looks.

In fact, I think I still have the left front fender in my shed with the stripes still on it.  :scratchchin: Need to see what it looks like, might have less rust.

Tuesday I am off but I have to go the VA Hospital and have my foot cut on I all so have to cut the front and back yard. Maybe there will be some Mopar time? All so need to start clearing out the 6 years of junk sitting under the train layout so I can take it a part.

Thanks for all the people that is following this post, helps keep the fire going!

Yeah I was living that era too, class of 1977... I was the other end of the spectrum, simple paint & lots of hp & Cragers on almost everything....  :slap: Good luck at the VA hospital & your foot issue... get well soon

Why don't you load up and come to Carlisle. I can bring a sharp pocket knife if someone brings alcohol and we can work on that foot for ya.  :D

Bud Nick, things went OK at the VA Hospital, lot of cutting on the Ulcer Hole in my foot/ big toe to get rid of callous that builds up around the wound. Today it has been 1 year that I got out of the hospital, and I still have a hole in my toe :brickwall: Till I find a better job it is not going to heal, I need to stay off my feet!

Tilar, Carlisle is out of my range, besides I seen, owned and driven all of the cool kinds of Mopars cars. Now if you want to make it too Monster Mopar Weekend I will buy the   and you bring the pocket knife. My 69 Charger took second in its class 3 years in a row.

It rained all day Tuesday so no grass cutting, that = No Mopar Time on the 4th of July!  :brickwall:I was hoping to cut the front grass tonight after a 11 hour workday, but after the hour drive home, :eek2: I was beat.  :shruggy:

Maybe a bit of good news sort off?  :scratchchin:  A Bow Tie Friend of mine has a friend that is a Goodmark dealer and he is checking to see if he can get me some parts for the Road Runner. His shop is in Troy IL and that is a 20 minute drive for me!  :2thumbs:

Thanks for the answers replays! Sure hope I can get something done Thursday besides cutting grass!

For some reason I felt like doing stuff today? :shruggy: I got both the front and backyard cut, and the backyard was a mess! Did some running for the wife and still worked on the Road Runner!  :2thumbs:

Started with some more cleaning!
http://s83.photobucket.com/user/cudaken/media/Charger%20Site/1-7-04-1_zpsd44959c6.jpg.html]

Got all the wires cleaned and labeled.

http://s83.photobucket.com/user/cudaken/media/Charger%20Site/1-07-04-3_zpsea3aa1e2.jpg.html]

Then I took some refrances shoots of the distributor.

http://s83.photobucket.com/user/cudaken/media/Charger%20Site/1-07-04-2_zps8e5f562b.jpg.html]

Then I pulled the cap off, think the rotor will clean up?   :scratchchin:

http://s83.photobucket.com/user/cudaken/media/Charger%20Site/1-07-04-5_zps6de39d1b.jpg.html]

I still need to mark the crank damper so I can get the timing closes.

Got the plugs pulled on the drivers side, I must admit I have forgotten what a bitch it is to get them out with Hooker Super Comp Headers!  :brickwall: Got holes 7 and 5 filled with Marvel Mystery Oil using this handy tool!

http://s83.photobucket.com/user/cudaken/media/Charger%20Site/1-07-04-7_zps48c7cf42.jpg.html]

I got it from Advances Auto, it is a funnel with a on / off valve, funnel has a lid and a clear hose. The hoes fit perfectly into the plug holes! I had to buy 2 of them so the hose would reach, I took the second funnel hose off and glued the hoses to the first funnel. Filled the cylinder with oil till you see the oil backing up in the clear tube, pull and but your finger over the opening, turn up side down till the oil gets into the funnel, turn off the flow valve and move to the next cylinder!

Worked great for the first 2 holes, then the glue failed and the tubes came apart! :brickwall: I Cannot believe with all the car stuff I have I could not find a small hose clamp!

So after I dumped a bunch of oil down the side of the left fender, I stopped!  :RantExplode: Oil and the future bodywork do not go hand in hand!  :brickwall:

Oh, I may have just picked this up!  :2thumbs:

Just a little up date. It has just been way to hot to work on her. But I have been buying stuff I need. Got the valve cover gasket set and the valley pan / intake gasket. All so had one of the mechanic look at the 750 Holley, he does the carb work on there dirt tack car and he gave the carb a  :2thumbs:. Besides a few dead spiders and the bowels being dusty it looked and smelled fine. (no smell of Varnish)

Set Backs

I did no get the promised $200.00 raises. So I have a interview for a new job Saturday. I will have to spend some money on my daily driver, it needs upper ball joints and a new radiator. Only thing I will miss about my current job is the NAPA discount and $35.00 labor rate for mechanical work I don't want to do .

BoS Bank Of America has declined my home loan modification so I am looking for a places to move too. There goes most of my nest egg!  :brickwall: Not sure how long I have till I am foreclosed on. I may still fight it, not sure right now.  :scratchchin: In someways I just want to move on with my life, and BoS has caused 4 years of sleepless nights and worries.

See you all later!

Talk to Bryan today.  :2thumbs: Wish it was more about cars, but still good hearing a friendly voices.

Found a local Good Mark dealer, it is my old bodyman Tim Roberts! Tim worked for me for 15 years and we became friends. He is going to get me the prices on the needed sheet metal. He will all so rent me his paint booth when I am ready for it.

Spent the early part of the day with my wife at the hospital, she not been able to keep her food down for 2 weeks now. After they ran all there test and I got done running it was just to darn hot to think about working on the Runner.  :shruggy:

Still looks like I am going to get the 440.

Sure not sure about Sue. I spent 7 hours at the ER with her the other night. They did some test and they could not come to any real conclusion. About the only thing they really did was tell her to eat White Rices, Bananas, Apple Sauces and toast. While she is not blowing chucks, she still feels really bad. I am still worried, but the Hospital did rule out the cancer!  :2thumbs: Good side effect? Not spend as much on food!  ;)

Fighting with BoS I have contacted and working with Green Path (Government Making Homes Affordable Program) and I still stand a chances of keeping the house! :2thumbs: Found out some of the stupid stuff BoSwas holding against me.

Got the new job  :2thumbs: I start Aug's 5th, while not the base I wanted it is better than I have now!

Far as working on the Road Runner, between the ER time, Fighting with BoS and doing things around the house I have not touched her for a week. But I still thinking of her and that is way more than I have been! I am staying in touch with Richard and still getting the 440.

Main thing I need to do is get the train layout torn apart and get the Road Runner in the garage. It has just been to darn hot to work on it outside. Tearing apart the train layout with be hard to make my self do, I run it everyday and I am running it now.

By the way, no one chime in and say Mopar is way cooler or more fun than model trains! They are different and I hope to be able to have both later on. I am still a train guy. :coolgleamA:

Well it is official, I don't have a job! :2thumbs: Went in today and turned in all my keys! God I hated that places, I had been framed for stealing, I won that, had hundreds of dollars stolen in commission (which I proved and who did it and never got a penny of what I earned), been berated by over stressed managers! It was sad to see good and fair people turned into pricks by the NTB Meat Grinder!

Talk about feeling like I am screwing over customers!  :brickwall: NTB markup is obsession! If I paid $22.00 for pads computer marks it up to $89.00? ::) Pay $22.00 for rotors $89.99 each?  :eek2:

There are only 2 kind of people that work at National Tire and Battery, those that just got there and those that want to leave!

OK, rant is over.

Plans for the next two weeks before I start the new job are.
1 Get the Runner Running! Weather is going to be a tad cooler. There should only be around 3 hours to get here started.
2 Get the 440! Is life worth living unless you have a 440 waiting to be built?  :shruggy:
3 Sale my Snap On Box for cash for body parts and engine parts!
4 Get the Road Runner in the garage while I still have one!

Far as Sues health? :shruggy: Well she ate part of a baked potato today and has not blew chucks!  :2thumbs: Well that is something, just hoping for the best.

Later folks.

Jim, good to see you drop by!

Found the floor jack and it still works!  ;)

Got the rest of the spark plugs out and and filled the cylinders Marvel Mystery Oil. Got the car up in the air and found some good, and some bad things.

http://s83.photobucket.com/user/cudaken/media/Charger%20Site/07-20-1_zps7c7c914d.jpg.html]

Well good thing first, left front wheel turns freely!

Found a lot of cob webs.

http://s83.photobucket.com/user/cudaken/media/Charger%20Site/07-20-2_zps882cb1a2.jpg.html]

Bad things, well the right front wheel is stuck. Rust on the rotor looks a 69 Charger Quarter.  :eek2: Guess later I will pull the wheel hit the rotor with a DA and 120 paper and knock off what I can, then try a pry-bar and see if I can get it to turn.

Next I saw this!  :brickwall:

Well I have seen worse, in fact I have fixed worse!  :smilielol: Section next that holds the front torsion bars looked good and oil soaked (never could build a motor that did not leak something  ) so I am still hopeful the center section is still solid!

Ever Get Confused Laying On Your Back Working With Your Hand Behind Your Head?

Well I did today!  :brickwall:

Well I drained the old oil (you guys know where this is going) and the good news is it poured out in a stream, no chunks. Bad News, well I had a real long Box End wrench and I was confused!  :rotz:

I did get some stuff done today but it was cut short. Between the confreres call with Green Path and BoS taking Sue to the doctors only had about a hour and a half to work on the car and chase parts.

On the wife front, no good news yet. She still cannot eat much and has lost 10 pounds in the last 2 weeks.  ::)

OK, back to the fun stuff!  :2thumbs:

Allen (41 Husk) dropped by and we had to do a little running. Went to a friends shop and used is dumpster to get rid of the old custom made carpet that was in the trunk of the Runner. Next we went to Advances Auto and got a rubber oil pan plug to hold me over till I get the car running. Now I can get the 383 pre lubed.

By the time Allen and I got back, we had just a tad over a hour before I had to take Sue to the doctors. I have came to realizes to turn the motor over by hand before starting, that the clutch fan needed to come off.

I all so have a leaking P/S box so we pulled the steering pump off. Plus I don't want to hurt it with it being a newer pump from year one. Few Pictures.

Wish me luck and a cool day!

 Dam, Dam and Dam :brickwall:

Well I felt pretty good today!  Had some running to do, went to where my daughter works to look a her tires. Told her 2 weeks ago I was quieting NTB and told her last year it was time for tires! Well now that I no longer work there, she wants tires! :shruggy:

Got home and starting looking in the parts room. Boy I still have a lot of stuff, some of it I have for got I had! Any one need a chrome plated Timing Chain Cover never installed? Found motor mounts, U Joints, gasket sets and the list goes on. I all so found my Sharps Gravity Feed Paint gun!  :2thumbs: Heck, it may even work! I had pulled it apart and had the parts soaking in thinner, well the thinner is long gone but just maybe it will still work.

Reason I was digging around in there was because I was looking for my Oil Pump Priming Rod, but it was no where to be found? :scratchchin: Machine shop that Bob (bow tie friend) turned me on to is a Mopar guy. Called him and he loaned me a Pump Priming Rod! While I was there got to look at few Hemi's.  :coolgleamA: Shop is only 3 miles from my house, sweet!

Got home, I really needed to cut the grass. That normally kicks my butt, but not today!  :coolgleamA:

Got the Runner up in the air and rolled my happy butt under the car.

Reason for the Dam, Dam and Dam :brickwall:? The rubber expiation oil pan plug I bought to hold me over till I do a proper repair, was to dam big!  :shruggy:    Oh well, back too Advances Auto I go.
