Motor mount not lining up??

I am replacing my motor mounts(70 Charger) and they came out easy enough in two pieces.  I have searched through other threads, but I didn't find anything on this issue.  The passenger side mount is about 5/16 too far forward.  It would have to be pushed over quite a bit to bolt on.  This is a pic from an older post, the blue line shows were the edge mine lines up, if I install just the rubber half.  I did do Ron's reinforcement on both sides, shouldn't be needed, but both were broken, so I just did both of them.  The rubber mounts appear correct and I have the correct side for the engine mount.  Even in the pic, this one looks slightly pushed back.  Maybe the reinforcement makes it harder to flex back?  It seems like a long way to me.  I will try to add a pic of mine.  Thanks.

I just went through the same battle.  The only way that I finally got it installed was to take out the two bolts holding the tranny mount to the tranny.  You can then slide the rear of the tranny to the left (in my case) and then the mounts finally lined up.  Good luck.....

Thanks! Sounds like that would help.  I may have to unbolt the collectors too, to let it move over more freely.

Yep, unbolt the collectors as well as the trans mount and you will have enough "wiggle room" to line things up.  :yesnod:

:2thumbs: Success!  I had initially just removed the nut on the bottom of the tranny mount.  But, after removing the other 2 bolts and loosening the collectors, I was able to push it to the side some and move the motor forward as well.  Quite the task for such a seemingly small job.  Thanks!
