Smaller power steering pulley...Does this equal MORE boost?

The Charger has a fully rebuilt front end, Firm Feel Stage 3 steering box, Fast ratio arms and a good street alignment. 275-40-18 tires. The steering is tight and responsive, but it feels like it could use a bit more boost. I thought of doing the opposite of "Shimming the Pump", where I could REduce the shims in the spool valve.
The pulley on the pump is bent and I planned on replacing it with another of the same size...5 7/8". I found another Saginaw pump with a 5" pulley and wondered if in the case of Power Steering pumps, does an increase in pulley speed equal more boost? I wasn't sure if the pump reaches a point of maximum output and any RPM over that has no effect.

I dont think that pump speed has an influence on the ciruit pressure. Smaller pulley means that the pump turns faster wich could only be of a benefit for parking manouvres with a slow running engine.

NOS is nice, turbo's are neat, but when it comes to Mopars, there's no need to cheat...

With 3.91 gears and a 2800 stall converter, the pump already spins pretty fast. I was just hoping for an easy fix. Maybe I'll use the small pully and check the shim pack while the pump is out.

IMO, spinning the PS pump faster will only heat the fluid. The Pressure regualtor is where you need to be to help out with the assist part.

A smaller driven pulley will slow the pump down. To increase speed you want the pulley to be larger in relation to the drive pulley.
