I wonder what he is hoping to get for it, I really wish there was room in my life right now for a resto project because there is something about that car that just really calls out to me.

Are you trying to talk yourself into it?  :icon_smile_big:

Looks like a great project.  I hope it does go to someone that will return this one close to original.

Very nice. It is my understanding that a luggage rack and the R/T stripe is not very common.

i wish there were interior pictures, i see A/C i wonder what other options it has inside?  :scratchchin:

No pictures of the interior = don't show the worst parts of the car.

Oh yeah, I gotta think there is some real nastiness to be discovered after purchase there somewhere.

66FBCharger

How much does everyone think this car will bring? I am guessing $18K.

Neat car, but it's tough to see more than $15k in that car?  :Twocents:

The reason I say $18K is, I sold a rolling shell at the end of last year on ebay. It was a R/T S.E. 440 4 speed car. It was a luggage rack (missing)/ R/T stripe car. It needed complete resto. It was triple green. It had no drivetrain in it. The interior was shot. I sold it for $12,400.
This car is more complete and in my opinion a more desireable color.

It looks cool cause its rare/original paint worn to perfection. But honestly once you tear into the car its gonna need the same work a 5k rotter would.

I didn't think you could order them like that.  Learn something everyday.  ;)

Agreed on the more desirable color, but remembering the "barn find" 1969 brown Charger from several years back which I think sold for mid-20s, I can't see paying 18 for this one... :Twocents:

RAC95054

Seems to me if the seller is expecting a decent amount of money for this, they'd already post more pictures of the interior, underside, fender tag (and better/higher res ones to boot), and try to give some more specifics, rather than force people to call (and then repeat the same things over and over).  Is there a build sheet(s)?  Any other document history?  I mean, really, he didn't even bother to blow the leaves/crud filling the water channel in the trunk, and more in the engine bay.  I'd guess there is a lot of rust hiding under all that.

Taking the price out of the equation, this car has great potential to be a real head-turner..........

Now, back to our regularly schedule channel of reality and the "potential" asking price.................

Looks like a nice crop of mold spores are growing on the dashpad. Gonna have to suit up to clean that car out......

Ghoste

The trunk floor and the dark portion of the roof he is trying to hide tell the real story.  There is no question it would be a huge amount of work to do but what a looker it would be when you were done.

By the looks of the condition of the front seat i would say original miles of 89k for sure. Picture this car restored to perfection with the "new" recall Kelsey Hayes wheels with red lines !  :2thumbs:

bill440rt

Hmmm... Jersey car, too.
I know of another bronze RT/SE 440-4spd in north Jersey. Original owner, was sitting outside for decades. Not the same car, the other one is a stripe delete.
Amazing that there are two of them sitting around here.

Pictures of the fender tag and interior floor boards have been added. The carpet was removed to show the floor boards.  There is a small spot that has rusted through by the front drivers side floor as seen in the picture.

"small" spot  :scratchchin: I'd hate to see their definition of "large"  :Twocents:

And the fender tag is so rusty, it would need to be "read" from the backside  :o

For 15k I would rather opt for that fc7 70 coronet vert that went thru ebay a while back.  That car was at least somewht solid to work with.
I guess its ok to be nuts for chargers, just not nuts enough to be the guy paying 15k for that RT pile.

rarefish

$15k is kind of nuts for this one... I'm sometimes surprised on how narrow the buying public's price gap is between rusty roaches and clean drivers. If this was a nice driver. The bidding would probably only be about $10k more. People will over pay for a project car believing that they will save money over buying a decent finished car.   :Twocents:

The brown charger didn't need thousands upon thousands of dollars of AMD sheet metal and small parts. It looked to be a turn key car  :shruggy:

Iceyone

I'd pass on that one too. Somebody would have to want it awful bad to pay that much for such a rust bucket.

$22K for that car??  Wow!   People must really hate the T7 color on mine then, because I'm pretty sure the $30K+ they will need to get this one done plus the $22K base cost is well north of what I'd take for my car... and mine's even a 4-speed!

The seller must be doing cartwheels. Hopefully he gets all his money prior to the new owner seeing it in person & getting cold feet.

:iagree: Holy moly  :o $22k for that one a LOT of money for that car!!

The other T7 car from a few years ago was only a few grand more, and ready to go...  :shruggy:

66FBCharger

That is a lot higher than I thought it would bring. It is great for the seller as long as the deal doesn't fall through.
If I was looking for a project car, I wouldn't pay that much. I paid just a little more for my matching number 4 speed R/T. Yes mine will need to be restored eventually, but I am driving and enjoying mine now. I'm not sure if the R/T S.E. runs and drives.
With the exception of the automatic, this has the colors and options I would have liked. I think the T5 with the tan leather interior looks awesome.
