In the past that wasn't a big deal, but now a lot of states are cracking down on the "no title" thing.

It may be difficult or impossible to get one now.

Seeing your pictures adds to my regret that I gave up on one in better shape several years ago. It was even the same color. I don't have any body parts from it but do have many misc items. For example gauge cluster. Look in parts for sale. If you want me to hold on to it for you I will.

A notarized nothing is still nothing.

He has no proof of ownership at this point.

Can you do the work yourself?  Welding, cutting and so on.... That car will need a lot of work and money put in it.  Oh, the rearend is a 8 3/4.

I have a friend that can help with the welding aspect. I have done body work here and there so sanding,priming and cutting is no biggie then panel replacement will figure afterwards

That condition + no title = parts pile. Keep what you've got. If he can get a title and transfer it to you, fine. If not, heck no.

There is alot of $$ worth of stuff missing that you will have to get from somewhere
You add that up plus what you could have sold your black car for would let you buy a better car to start with

I tend to be here as well. But if your passion is for this car you will get much from the adventure. You will learn a lot and get satisfaction in return. This hobby is more than keeping track of money spent. Other threads speak to this. And when it is done another car will be with us for those that follow.

From a guy who bought a parts pile farther gone than that and has had it in process for that long, find a better car. Now, what does he want for the fenders?

Man that thing looks like it's been rode hard and put up wet.     I'd look for one in a little better shape.

I would ask him about the bonnet or hood for car , vin tag should still be on that dash frame, close up on that front shot, see if its still there, fender tag also and do those numbers match boot rail and radiator support, I would keep it as an rt , what color was it originally, its been every color since, if rails are good it look worse than it is, front valance is there, it will save a lot of time pulling it apart for metal restoration work, RR in good shape  would not do a straight swap cash from him , and I bet there is parts to thing all over that farm, I bet the engine is there somewhere

Since I own one, I am really a big fan of the 70 model. One of the bad things about these cars is that there are many, many ONE YEAR parts on these cars. That grille? If you can find one for sale, you'll shell out some serious cash. Most of the interior can be cobbled together from 68-70 models if originality isn't a problem, but there are a LOT of parts missing there. That stuff will add up QUICK! Engine/trans/suspension stuff is the easy part. Quarter panels, trunk floor, rear window channel rust repair.
I hope that you are dedicated.

Well, are you good at welding and buying AMD stuff? Those two will go hand in hand with this one.

I'd be wary of the title thing too myself. 10 years ago it was getting pretty strict so I can imagine today is much worse. Still, Congress is working on giving citizenship to every Mexican that feels like walking north so laws don't mean much anymore apparently.

Yea, my thought too. Find another Charger. That thing will kill you financially.
