Hey, I'm just sitting here thinking that somewhere, there is a scared man about to get married to a 21 year old GIRL, that for some reason thinks that the world is against her.  The truth is the world's not against her, the world just does not care. :'( Life is good and bad.)  You have to laugh at it or you will loose it.  Like when my wife was delivering our son, Now I know she was in alot of pain, So I told her (Don't worry honey, I'll find the guy that did this to you!) :rotz: Now she did not think that was funny but the doctor and I did and I believe it helped us get through it. :icon_smile_big:  Anyway, my point is that somewhere this poor guy is not able to Rant so I figured I'd do it for him. :icon_smile_big: See, I'm not that cold :-*  Well, here goes.  LIFE IS GOOD, :'( AND LIFE IS BAD :'( IF MY GIRL DONT GET A CHARGER, :'( MY LIFE WILL BE SAD :'(    I apologize to anyone that takes offense to this for it is just my rant......LOVE, Chuck :-*......

The only time I ever feel like ranting, is when my underwear gets too bunched up in the crack of my ass when I'm on a long trip. But I figured out how to solve that problem a long, long, time ago, so I don't type about it now. When you get older you learn how to deal with things better, & when you get way older, the underwear bunched up in your ass is the only excitement all day anyway, so why complain?.

Sometimes I believe silence is the best avenue.  Just because some individuals are not as "mature" as you does not give you the right to indirectly ridicule them or make fun of them.  This is exactly what this thread is correct?  If it is not then please correct me.

Self-awareness is a wonderful concept.  To thine ownself be true.  I wonder how you would have felt if the questions you asked were treated in such a manner, and you were the same age as her?  I wonder if your responses would have been 1/2 as intelligent.

She could really be going through some tough times.  But that is the commonality of this forum.  We all assume we know what is best for everyone else right? Especially when it comes to their cars.

Sorry Chuck.  I just have to disagree with your approach to this.

In fact Strat, no I have not.  In fact, I remember very well how tough it was to be 21 and not have any money, but I, like many on this board, made good decisions most of the time and, when I didn't, I learned from my bad ones.

Now, more than a few of us have been somewhat successful in our lives and, when it seems that someone is needing some advice BEYOND the advice they are actually asking for, we'll pipe in.  I remember more than once telling Arthur (68-70 Charger) how to turn his life around back when his only aspiration in life seemed to be working as the guy who changes your oil at the Jiffy-lube and I'm sure that many times he did not want to hear it, now he seems to be on track to a successful career.  I like to think that I had some small part in that.

Neongirl seems to be a relatively intelligent girl (woman, actually) who is just somewhat misguided.  The fact alone that she was able to save up 3800 bucks making what they do impresses the hell out of me.  It shows me that she is willing to make sacrifices to get what she wants.  That's a VERY good thing.  I believe that she is SERIOUSLY misguided though and, while I'm not holding out much hope that anything we're saying will actually get through to her, I'm holding out a tiny glimmer of hope that she is smart enough to see that EVERYONE is telling her the same thing and she may start to change things around in her life.

If I didn't think there were SOME smarts there and if I thought it was hopeless, I wouldn't bother.
I ain't got time for pain, the only pain I got time for is the pain i put on fools how don't know what time it is.

You guy's are right. I did feel the same as you until it just went to that point when I said f---it.  My bad :yesnod:   :yesnod:  I don't get offended so easily but I know that others do and sometimes I forget that.  I don't wish anyone here harm.  And like my wife said this morning, this girl may be having trouble and is getting hammered a bit.  :icon_smile_sad: SO, I'm going to see if I can't make some peace and would ask that nobody else post here anymore. :yesnod:  Thanks,  Up Chuck.....................

I do read everything posted and yes I do have a good head on my shoulders. I'm not bragging at all but I graduated and was in the top 5 in my class. I am not taking offense to it, I just wanted a little better explaination. I have came up with a plan that I have explained to friends and family to get feedback (about what options I have). They tell me that I had already gotten off to a good start. I have been on my own since I was 18, not too long, but hey I have managed to come this far without getting arrested, pregnant, married and divorced, into alcohol, into drugs, without getting any shut off notice or eviction notice, without moving back in with my parents, etc etc.  ;DI think that is a good start. Sure things aren't the way I want them to be but who honestly has what they need or want???? Paris Hilton maybe...

But in closing,  the way some of you have treated me crossed the line. Why don't you stop and think about one thing....what would you have done and how would you have felt if something you said to someone made them commit suicide or something???  ???

Let me make this crystal clear, I am not suicidal at all, it was just a reference. I am, however, hurt by the way I have been treated.

I was gonna back away from this topic but, since you asked, I'll tell you.  You want to know how I think you're misguided (actually, what I said was "seriously misguided")?

You yourself are giving me all the ammo I need.

-You graduated at the top of your class but you are not going to college (misguided).  If you really did graduate where you say you did, obtaining a scholarship (BOTH academic and need-based) should not be a problem.

-You manage to save a lot of money (commendable) but you want to spend it on a car that (believe me) will not even be a mediocre second car.

-You are in serious need of funds but you can't seem to find a job...even though there are plenty of jobs out there.  This tells me that you are aiming way too high.  Have you tried Home Depot, Lowes, Wal-Mart, K-Mart, Target, McDonalds, Taco Bell, ANY retail establishment...etc?   So you can't pick your fiancee up.  Get him a bike or let him walk.

-I'm sure you deeply love your fiancee, but your job as his future wife is to not let him stagnate in the job he's in.  No matter how long he works at his place of employment, he'll never advance.  If you don't believe in him enough to push him to do better, then you really need to be with someone else, just my two cents.  I'm sure he's a great guy, but a great guy with no ambition is a great guy who will never amount to anything more than the dirt poor guy that everyone likes.  Do you know what the biggest reason for divorce in the US today is?  Money...not infidelity...MONEY.  Just remember that.

As far as someone committing suicide because of what I say....THAT would be a problem with THEIR head and not MY mouth.

I ain't got time for pain, the only pain I got time for is the pain i put on fools how don't know what time it is.

You guys aren't listening, it was just an example. Haven't you ever heard of Columbine??? I was just saying that what someone may say to another person can have horrible results. It does not mean the "victim" is mental. It means they are alone, desperate, scared, and they think the only way to end it all is to take their own life. So don't just shrug it off as if it doesn't matter. I wasn't directing it at you, Orange Crush, that is why there was a space in between the two sentences. I was starting adifferent topic, directing it to practically everyone and not just any one person in particular. I added the "crystal clear" part because I know that some of the members would automatically assume that I was referring to myself when I clearly wasn't.

I don't think that I am seriously misguided. I don't think misguided is really the right term. Yes I graduated high school in the top 5 but that doesn't mean that I wanted to dive right into college. I wanted to takea few months to make a plan about what I wanted to do, and I researched different jobs that I would like to do. Then I looked at classes that a Community College offers that related to my ideal jobs, but a lot of them conflicted (taught on the same day at overlapping times) so I was forced to make a decision when I really wanted to take 3 out of the 5 I chose, but the way they were set up I couldn't. I was working at the time 40 hrs a week which didn't give me much spare time to take the classes, let alone one. I can take them now but they aren't being offered at this time. As time went by, other things came into my life and priorities changed and somehow here I am. I have never had a problem getting a job before, the problem now is that there aren't any decent jobs in my area, I have applied at tons of different places, including most of those you gave as examples (that are in my area anyway, not all of them are but I get the general gist...) I can't make people hire me, I wish I could but I can't. I have went to countless interviews and I just haven't been hired. I don't know why I haven't been hired, I do have a good job record and everything is accurate on my resume'. Out of all of the jobs I have worked, I have only quit one and it was a pretty good reason for me to (I really don't want to go there) and I believe that I called in maybe three total days for being sick. In my area, employers are picky in who they hire because of the whole state economy/high unemployment thing. The only real job I have been offered (and have been doing) is running errands for an elderly woman that a member of my mother's church knows. Regarding my fiance, we both know and accept that we can't afford to get married soon. We will when we are ready.....that has never been an issue. He has goals as well, he has had better luck in going to night school to acheive his career choice. I figure when he is where he wants to be, then I will continue with starting my career. I have a way of making sure he has what he needs and putting myself aside, it's hard to explain. Well, I get what you are saying but I am not really aiming high, there just aren't as many jobs as you may think. Sure I would love to move out of state and start with a clean slate but that isn't going to happen just yet. It is easier said that done, for sure!

They bought him a car, paid for his night school, etc etc. My parents could never afford to do anything like that for me, and all I've ever wanted since I was young was a Charger (and no, it had nothing to do with the Dukes of Hazzard, I saw a '68 Charger and fell in "love" before I ever saw that show). You know the $3800 that we had to spend on everything with the Neon? That was money that I saved from taking cans and bottles back, taking loose change and putting it in the bank, and money that came from ebay sales. Matt didn't contribute a dime to it. All of that hard work saving it and we had to fix the car with it. It seemed so unfair at the time. I realize life has its ups and downs, but
sometimes I just want it to be different for a change.

Apology accepted. I just wanted to point out that you were being really inappropriate... Matt doesn't need anyone to say anything for him. Hey 98neongirl,  Is the charger that you want to by still for sale?   If it is go back and try to make a deal with the guy, Payments, or maybe you could work it off.  Like help with yard work or cleaning his house ect... I've done that before. :yesnod:
