I'm needing help identifying this transmission. It appears to be a small block 727 from a car. The part # doesn't come up on an internet search. It's PK4131552   9890   7962. The first 1 is faint and could be something else.
If it ain't broke, fix it 'till it is.

9890 is the build date August 28, 1988 so it's an '89 model year small block 727. The tailhousing is 2WD  truck. The input shaft is covered so I can't tell if it's lockup or not.
Pardon me but my karma just ran over your dogma.

Thanks for the info. It has the bosses for the floor shift is why I thought it was from a car. Here's a pic of the input shaft, non lock-up?

I'm confused.  Isn't a small block torqueflite a 904?  Is there such a thing as a small block 727?

Yeah, I've seen a few in SB trucks, but normally they're found behind a 340 in place of a 904.

Considering that the big block was discontinued in '78 and the small block soldiered on for another 20+ years, the SB 727's undoubtedly outnumber the BB 727's.
