I have a 69 Charger that had a 22" radiator with the hose located in the top center in it when I bought it. I am guessing that it is the wrong one for car. I dont see how a 26" would fit, buy maybe it will. Question is.... Are all 69's the built same, as far as the radiator mounting locations?

nope...22" rad with center hose is stock.

26" rad will fit, but you will have to cut 4" from pass side rad support for air flow. You will also have to get new rad hose as 26" upper hose is probably on passenger side. New mounting holes for passenger side will need to be made as well. Drivers side is still the same for both

You don't have to cut the radiator support to get a 26" radiator to fit. It would be a bit nicer for the air flow through the fins but not a requirement for bolting it in. I have a 26" that came with my '68 when I bought it. It worked fine.

Thanks.  So I will mount the 26" without cutting the support, but I need to drill new mounting holes on the passenger side?

Thanks

Ok, so I attached a pic of what I am currently working with (at least I hope it shows up).  I had this re-cored and had an additional core added years ago.  I finally got the engine and radiator installed last fall and managed to log a whopping 80 miles before winter.  I had some overheating issues, but I have since learned on this site that the shroud is an important thing that I do not have.  Looks like I also need to change out the lower hose to one with a coil in it to keep from colapsing, as well as get the front of the car on ramps for a burp.....  So with all this, and seeing the 22" radiator I have, should I just get a shroud for this one and save the money on the aluminum.  I am just not sure what shroud to look for if I stay with this one being that the top hose is in the middle and not sure how it would mount to this one.....

I have a 440 500HP, and the only reason I was thinking aluminum was just to get the temp down, but If I can make due with what I have that would be best.

Thanks,
Dave

Thanks!!!

So does it look like a radiator that belongs in a 69 charger? If so, think it is part of the reason for cooling issues and should I switch to aluminum?  I just dont want to invest more money in this one if a 26" aluminum is the only way I am going to keep the 500hp engine cool?

Thanks Again,
Dave

Actually Herbs has the correct 69 metal 2 piece 22 inch.

I don't remember if a 69 rad was that style or the square-er one.
Either way here is the link.  Not a bad price frankly, I paid over $100 for mine on the 67 used.
Same style rad as yours.

FYI - 1968 had the 2 piece metal shroud.  1969 had a one piece plastic where the repros had issues with the top thin part sagging and making cnotact with the fan.

Here's a stamped piece that let's you replace the passenger side of the core support so a 26" radiator will fit, without having to make cuts. You drill out a couple of spot welds, remove the old and insert the new piece. I'm glad someone thought of this. The core support was made for either 22" or 26", the only difference being this passenger side piece.
