I was on You Tube looking for videos of low over head garage door track. I ran across this video of how burglars can get through your garage door in just seconds. I ran out and zip tied my openers.

"Were not gonna show you how" ...... I don't have to worry about it I have 3 12x12 garage doors with no windows, and shaft driven openers.
Sold my Charger unfortunately....never got it finished.

One of my neighbors locked himself out & did the same thing to get in. I don't have to worry about it for a few reasons. One, I don't have electric door openers, two, my garage isn't attached to the house, & three, the doors are dead bolted & can only be opened from inside the garage.   :D

If someone wants in your home or garage bad enough, they're gonna get in. A pickup truck will wipe out a garage door in a heartbeat.

Yup.  I agree. If a theif wants to get in somewhere bad enough, no alarm, lock, or whatever will keep them out.  You have a lock, thats great, they'll break the window.  Don't have a window, they will cut around the dead bolt or shoulder the door in.

If they want in, they'll get in.  All you can do is make it take longer to get in.  Not to sidetrack too much, but looks like a 67,8,9 Red Dart at 1:20 in the video...

I just turn the power off to the circuit that feeds the door.  Not recommended if you have a freezer on the same circuit....

You can get cheap sliders that slide into side rail where door rollers go.

You just have to remember to open it before you open your garage door.

You can drill the tracks and put padlocks through them over a pair of guide rollers. It only costs a few bucks for locks. That's what I do. My door tends to bind and my opener is old and does not stop pulling. I don't use the opener at all.
After last year's break in when they took my prized mountain bike, my gas can and the Dremel kit I was careless enough to leave out, I also run a winch cable through anything that can move and lock it all together. No more missing stuff for the last few break ins.My tool stack now has six fixed casters and no swivels. Two point forward and four point sideways. That thing is impossible to move without a pallet jack. All the cabinets and side hangers are through-bolted together.

that's what I have on the detached garage where all the cars are..I even drilled a hole in the tip for a padlock after it goes through the roller track..the one I got didn't have a hole in the end

Good idea, when I go away I put a couple of locking C-clamps above the rollers. Unplug the power also.

bsakal

If I go away, I put a padlock thru the track so the door can't be lifted.

I just put a busted bungee strap s hook  in the hole in the rail above a wheel and you cant open the door    or put a long bolt in the hole and nut it
