Did a few small projects recently on my '70, just thought I'd post some detail pics.

Removed the front sway bar and repainted it correctly in black (it was gray before). Also replaced the straps and end links with the correct finish.

I had a rallye wheel in the trunk for a spare, swapped it for a more "correct" 15x7 steelie.

I never duplicated the red brake drums on the rear, so I took care of that too.

What is the plastic ribbed looking thing in the front wheel well?

Thanks!
Yeah, I got a few shows coming up so I've been on a cleaning/detail spree and just correcting a few little things here & there. Fun stuff. Good therapy, actually.
It took me this long just to put the damn red on the drums, I still can't bring myself to undercoat the wheelwells.

Bill,

What did you end up using for the red paint for your drums?  I have to paint the faces of the drums on our GTX vert.

Just like your '68 that I didn't know you had now a '70. You have the trifecta. Nice car with great detail...........I see you finally got your steelie you've been looking for.

Nice job Bill and good luck at the shows.

You do almost as good work as me!   ;)

Looks real good.  :2thumbs:

I couldn't drive a car that was that clean though. I'd be afraid of hitting a pothole with water in it or something. :P

Brian, I used Chrysler Engine Red, brushed it on with a 2" brush. Factory sloppiness! lol
I went thru some old pictures, found one which showed nearly the entire rear drum was red, including the wheel mounting face! This goes against the grain of that assembly line procedure sheet that's out there showing only a red band around the face. Goes to show it all depends who was working that shift, and how hung over they were.
The amount of red also explains the amount of red drips of paint I have on the insides of my original road wheels. (STILL on the hunt for April '70 road wheels!)
One source I spoke with said the brake drum red was slightly "browner" than the engine red. I polished up some of the drips on the wheels, and other than being a little old or faded the engine red was an exact match. In my original picture it's also bright red, there's no trace of brown at all.

No gauntlet at all, Don.
Something tells me there's going to be a STUNNING group of '70's at Carlisle this year.  :yesnod:

Yes, hoping to take this '70 to E-town this year. I haven't had it there in quite a while.

Sure. Here are some more reference photos in case anyone is interested. If anyone wants any pics of anything specific just PM me.
Next up on the list is to paint the master cylinder black also.
For those of you that know me, know that I've been thru hell and back with this car.
