car got damaged

well there was a pile of shingles stacked in the garage up in the ceiling over the car from when i first bought the house. well around ten years later then came crashing down on the nose of the car     the scratches are really deep its down to the primer or sealer under the paint.  i saw it at night so tomorrow ill go look at it in the sun. dunno exactly how much was damaged but the front left fender gonna need a repaint at least.  dunno if the hood is damaged as of yet or if the bumper took a hit too.

i never thought to check out the actual structure of the thing the shingles  were on.  for some reason the bottom blew out and down they came.

have any of you guys had to put any kinda claim like this into insurance? its insured through grundy.

Uggh.... that is horrible. 

Should be covered as a comprehensive claim, not collision.

That's one of our nightmares......something happening in our own garage. I cringed just reading your post. Sorry to hear it. Keep us posted on what's what. Chin up bro.

 thanks guys! tomorrow ill get a good look at it. hopefully its not too bad. im hoping they could match the paint with the rest of the car. id hate to have a mis matched car.  i still cant believe it happened. I mean i dont even use a hose when i clean the car. it never even gets wet and put of the blue it gets dive bombed with a pile of shingles

I'm getting a garage oops fixed this week.   My garage is 20 x 20 so I have shelves (big ass brackets) to hold storage type stuff.  Last fathers day I took the kids for a cruise and we stopped at a park for them to play.  I noticed a nice dent right on the body line of my newly painted Charger.  I called my oldest over to see it, and asked him do you know what happened, he said I slammed the door and something fell.  It was a speaker......  Needless to say all the smaller crap is off the shelves now...  This will be a nice bill to remind myself to watch out what I put up on the shelves.

Stuff happens. My son caused a small chip in the paint on my charger while working on his bicycle near by. (very small--hard to find). He was crushed and scared but he told me. I said there is a very big difference between an accident and an on purpose and that him telling me ended the issue. This was 20yrs ago and when ever he drops by to visit and we are near the car he will go over and look at that chip.

Stuff happens.

I wasn't mad at my son, pissed at myself.  I just told Matthew to let me know when something happens, and that when he grows up  he should watch out for this type of stuff.
