Its the receiver. I bought it as a flat piece of metal with some holes in it. Then with a press and die folded it, then welded the rails on, then drilled some more holes, and finally heat treated it with a torch and oil quench.

Pretty soon we won't be able to do that sort of thing here in Oregon because the idiots in our legislature are pushing a personal background check through that passed in the senate today. The rest of the morons are sure to follow suit and there's an "emergency" clause attached to it as an end-run around the voters who sometimes create ballot measures that void legislative bills. So soon, even if you want to buy your own father a gun, you must pay to have a background check done on him first. :coocoo:

We can't buy for anyone else here. I buy it and register it in my name, then after my dad's birthday we transfer it and register it to him.

That's the thing, it's unenforceable. But then they use that as an excuse to pass even more laws because somehow that last law just "doesn't do enough" to curb violence, even though violent crimes are on the decline and at all-time lows... everywhere but those places with very strict gun laws.

Ok, what's the story with the tank and green flack? There's lots of awesome in that pic. :2thumbs:

Well. I just like big guns with big power. This one just happens to have a tank under it.

I have determined that buying guns for men is like buying shoes for women. Here's my list, feel free to add yours to it:

1)You're can't own just one.
2) You might even own more than one of the same one.
3) You own ones you don't shoot, but just look at.
4) You own ones you really didn't want, but were on "sale".
5) You own ones because they are "collectible".
6) You own them and they make you feel all warm and fuzzy on the inside.
7) You have different ones for different occasions and purposes.
8) You get really angry when someone try's to take them from you, or tell you, you don't need that many. Morons.
9) You get all giggly when the new ones come out each year.
10) "Window Shopping" or "Sales" often involves a new purchase.
11) You admire a friends and try it out, borrow it.
12) You enjoy reading about and looking at pictures of them.
13) You can imagine yourself shooting one, or owning one, you don't have.

...and a few of my play pretty's.

do you shoot paper patch bullets out of that sharps? Nice rifle.

Sendero

No paper patch....but I do shoot 500 grain cast reloads as the more common 405 grains start tumbling after 300yards. If interested in ballistics of 45-70  - pretty amazing caliber considering its age. http://home.earthlink.net/~sharpsshtr/CritterPhotos/SandyHook/SandyHook.html

If I posted a pic of my "gun" I'd get banned so I'll just post pics of my firearms.  :smilielol:
