I've posted this car once in the past, never in a hurry to sell because of what it was.
Car got pushed back because of a Dart I started working on...

I have someone local asking me what cash is needed to sell it.  I had been chasing down parts such as doors and fenders.  I also picked up trunklids, a hood and various other parts that came with the parts package and are just extra.

It is an original 360 4 speed car.  I'd just like to have some resonable number to throw at the guy.  Right now, the motor is a 440 and I was told had been rebuilt.  I started it when I first picked it up and it did sound good with no leaks that I could see.

It's a little hard to guess, some of the pictures are a little scary to me since I fixed a 73 that looked similar back in the day.. The rust on the cowl along the inner fenders can be a bad sign, along with the rust in the rockers.  Look at the cowl ahead of the door hinges with a flashlight, inside and out.  And the frame, check the tortion bar crossmember, the rear spring hanger mounts and the front sections where it comes out from under the cowl and angles upward.  All three are bad spots, they can be fixed but it's money unless you can do it yourself (then it's just a P.I.T.A).  The pics don't show the middle of the trunk floor or the front foot wells, those go bad frequently too.
Price?  If all those spots are solid and since it's a 4 spd. but not an original big block car I'd guess $2500-$3k?  The stuff that shows up in the pics is still going to be money intensive to fix, and although I like them they're not nearly as popular as a second gen.  If there's bad rust in any of the mentioned areas, especially the cowl or frame it's probably more like $1000-$1500, parts value.

HPP

Any clapped out, rust bucket POS is worth a couple grand in parts, if it is complete. This has a 4 speed, big block, and bulge hood, all desireable features. I'd throw $4-5k at em and then let him work at talking you down.

Tilar

Wow, when they painted that one they painted weatherstrip and all.   I agree, If it at least starts and runs, start at 5k and go from there.

Yeah.. he is a body guy and owns a shop...  so I'm sure he has a good idea what he might be getting into.  He just finished a '74 Charger and has a '71 so it would be a familuar car for him to work with I'm sure.

Thanks for the inputs

Maybe it was obvious but I should have mentioned it was a Rallye as well...

I didn't take that into account because of no stripes and not sure if you had the build sheet or anything showing it was a Rallye. The Rallye hood could have been put on it.

I cannot view photobucket at work  ::)

I thought I had a fendertag photo there??
But, yes, it's a Rallye, A57 with V21 package, Lynch car.

On the hood you can see.. maybe hard in the photo's that they had painted over the blacked-out hood at some point.

In current condition.. $2,000 to 3,000. In 1974, they only made 95 total 360 4spd cars across all models. So, that alone makes it fairly rare. I would be all over that car myself if it was close. I had one, and still regret selling it  :brickwall:

All "L" code '74 Chargers required the Rallye package. No build sheet or A57 code needed to prove its a Rallye.

I agree 2-3K tops.

John, not sure if you remember the condition of my green 360 4 speed. Rough shape, but it ran and would smoke the tires.....$5200.

Yes you do have a fendertag pic and it does list it. That link took me to the last page and the way they've changed photobucket, I'm still trying to learn how to navigate though there. I'm still looking for the option to "View All" photos.  :shruggy:

I do remember the link you sent me.  Wasn't this the same car you passed up a 5k offer once?

.....
Well, his (the one with an interest in this yellow car) intention was to scrap the car and drop the 440, 4spd in a clean '71 auto body.  I didn't even drop him a price.

Yeah, I haven't spent enough time on that site to understand it completely myself.

I think Ryan had a good handle on that site.  Maybe he will chime in.
