He sure did take a beating, didn't he.  Glad he's getting fixed.  What's wrote on the quarters?

For a car that was jumped it sure looks good.   No body damage like quarter panel sag, doors line up and no damage I could see in another picture from under like it's bottomed out after a landing.    :scratchchin:   Must have been a very light jump.    :scratchchin: :shruggy:

If it is the car in the movie Colier and Company, then I think it was a very light jump or the landing was very light as it did not seem to take that hard of a hit like the Gen. Lee did in the series.

:scratchchin:  Could be.   If it's the one that landed in mud and water then that would make sense.

omg i know this car now i remember it was on craigslist for while i only remember it because of the name and one oic they have was used on the ad....

JumpTraveler

When I bought Traveler my main concern was frame damage but according to Breet Popwell that was there LUCKILY the car landed on a sand dune that doubled as a pillow but no one knew it at the time. Also John had people put in the thickest frame rails the entire length of the car so to not bend the frame and an 8 point roll cage. Ive never seen a stock never touched Charger with complete quarters. He really is in great shape. John wrote the dates and the cities Collier and Co and the car went to. And signed his name the complete drivers side front fender. It has no gas tank as they put in a fuel cell for the jump.

JumpTraveler

The Bad News. All the damage was to the font valance was twisted the sway bar bent and the drivers side front end ball joint tie rod were all twisted..I got a front valance already and we have to weld down the frame rails that pertrude threw the trunk as we got  new trunk floor through CT Body works..

Awesome. Looking forward to the progress. While I don't totally understand your position on/in the other thread, I refuse to be part of the problem and dog-pile. Good luck with your ride.

Well I got a few calls and emails today from people that actually count in the Mopar world and they all said the same thing this is the wost Dodge Charger site on the planet as the reputation is very well know and thats sad that a bunch of guys HATERS like that stupid Meth comment come from ignorant people that have no life and no ambition..I dont want this thread to turn into THAT THREAD. If your not part of the sollution your only part of the problem.

Very cool.  Thanks for sharing JT   If you don't mind, keep us posted on updates for those of us interested. :popcrn:  What's the specs on the Daytona in the background?

JumpTraveler

No problem. Think the worst is behind us. The Daytona is a 500 clone built by Crazy Jack Struller.. the owner Rene. Just. Got a sick new hemi to replace the 440..if you say all the mopars on set you'd freak

Rene is not a big fan of Hemi's so i doubt that.     He's putting a New 440 in it  .

Jack just shakes his head..this is to be his last restore after 40 years of doing it. I'm glad its Traveler...Jack's been my hero a long time

Thats ballpark.  I paid $1600 a couple years ago for a restored grille.   :Twocents:

The car looks darn good for one that jumped that big, but IMHO checking the frame dimensions is still mandatory before restoring it.

skip68

It landed in water/mud so that saved it.

The frame was my biggest fear but Crazy Jack and another Charger owner from the united street racers went over every inch of the car with flashlights for 6 hours. No Damage Thank God

That's awesome. Now lemme see if I got this one straight here, a General Lee (Wannabee) actually got jumped and survived unscathed? Freakin' SWEET!

JumpTraveler

Lol..i wouldn't say that. Frond end and Valance got twisted but yeah nothing catastrophic. Crazy Jack said this will be his last restoration and I knew this Charger was somthing specialhere are some picks fro my GL

JB400

Nice lookin GL.  I assume you painted it Flame red?

JumpTraveler

Your good. Its 75 Corvette flame red. The valuzets actually used a Dupont color I didn't go with and I wasn't a fan of the steering wheel but original WB GL parts are not cheap I think they wante1500.
