Same place this guy came up with the car...   The bid is now DOWN to "US $1,259.56". and only 7 bids.

The seller cancelled all bids made on 5-16, including bids more than the buy-it-now.

I've had no response to my offer. And here I am, leaving today to drive to PA, with a suitcase of cash to buy the Cuda, and the seller hasn't responded.

You have too much in your suitcase. It scared him. The IRS will be knocking on his door.

Well maybe not they are kind of busy right now.

Since he insists that he will sell at $16,500, my guess is he will cancel all bids again on Saturday, including all the bids over the "limit". It's some insane plan he (she?) has. Don't understand it.

I was under the impression that transactions over 10k through up a red flag to the gov. Maybe these guys are pushing the limit since the IRS is preoccupied for a while.

I could be way off base but maybe he's got some way of trying to get your ebay accounts info from your bids  or collecting them for some reason :shruggy:

It's any recorded CASH transactions over 10k. You can pay or deposit checks all day long at any figure, but for some reason the government thinks you shouldn't have 10k in cash laying around.

Bingo, right on schedule. Cancelled all bids for a second day. The seller cancelled all bids of 5-17 made before 6pm. It included 4 bids that exceeded the $16,500 price.

I'll agree it's likely a fishing expedition to try to gain access to accounts. I can't see how this scam can show any profit but then again I don't think like these scumbags (scambags).

It just dawned on me that this seller must be the same ass clown from last months' ebay scam: http://www.dodgecharger.com/forum/index.php/topic,100825.0.html

Same method: seller with 0 activity, a sweet Cuda worth lots more than a lowball price, very few pics, repeated cancelling of bids day after day, no accepting of any bid over the lowest price. The April nonsense ad then went poof.

So likely tomorrow all bids will be cancelled, and then likely the ad goes away on Monday.

Thank you John for shining a light on these cockroaches.

Bingo, right on schedule. Cancelled all bids for a THIRD day. The seller cancelled all bids of 5-18 made before 6pm. Same time as 5-17. It included all bids that exceeded the $16,500 price (a progression of bids up to $200,000, all cancelled). Same as scammer in the April Cuda scam.

Monday - the ad is still running, but all bids of 5-19 were cancelled.

And again all bids of 5-20 (up to 2:30pm) were cancelled. Including all eight bids for more than the $16,500 price.

Five days running, five days of cancellations.  What a roach.

He never respond to my $100,000 cash offer.

Tuesday - he cancelled all bids twice on Monday, the last cancellation at 9 pm.

So if he does not succed in his scam does this mean he still has to pay his listing fees? ::)

yes...and final value fee as well....unless he can con ebay into giving him his final value fee back because of non-paying bidder....which is probably one of his friends

I'm captivated by this seller (and I shouldn't be but yet I am).

Tuesday late in the day - he cancelled all bids twice during the day, about 3pm and again at 8pm. The second time he left in place bids between $100 and $609.

I don't get it. Motive is somehow criminal but the implementation is bizarre. What can it do for him to cancel 1000 bids?

I am captivated as well. What is his plan? There is effort that needs to be paid for. Or is it just hope like buying a lotto ticket.

Looking for that deposit. :scratchchin:

It's over. He cancelled all bids again at 8:20 pm on Wednesday night. In seven days he cancelled the bids on eleven occasions.

The auction ended at 10:10 pm with the final bid at $225,100. (About 35 bids in the last hour). But did it actually sell? It's obviously not his car, so I wonder what the buyer is thinking?
