It is a real Rallye, A57 - Rallye, and V21 - hood paint. I would not venture too far from stock if it were mine. Highly optioned big block car is sweet. The only thing better, two things actually that could kick it up a bit on the rarity list, if it was a U code automatic, or a 4 speed P code. 4 speed was not an option with a 440, only came automatics. If the car is clean and no rust I would not pass it up. Is the owner asking a ridiculous price for it?

I had a U code 73 Rallye and sold it because I did not want to modify it, only 715 or abouts produced. I am sure the numbers on a P code Rallye are similar.

This car will never bring the cash a big block 2nd gen will bring, just wont. But it is about as desirable as a 73/74 3rd gen can get.

Fifteen years ago, I found a similar 74 Charger over in Goodland, Kansas.  I was visiting a friend who was going to Vo-Tech school there and happened on it in the outskirts of town.  It was a white/white/green combo with the factory sunroof.  It was a big block (possibly 440) with automatic from what I remember and it had been sitting for many years there (tags from late 70s-early 80s were on it, but I don't remember the year).  It was complete, undented and nearly rust free.  I remember it having two fender tags, but I did not get the codes from it at the time, nor the VIN.  I don't know what happened to it after that, as I was interested mainly in second gens at the time.  I may have to go back and hunt that one down...

Id also put it in the $6-10K range (I know, its kinda broad but we're going by a few pics and also will depend on location, etc).  Either way, offering below $6K may be a lowball offer and over $10K is def too high.

74Rallye

Evaluate the rust repair work. If it's all metal, no bondo and needs nothing, $12K may not be a bad price. If you find bondo and the paint looks good close up, $10K. Heck, always start low.

It's a great looking car but I think the body work quality would determine the majority of it's value due to the cost of fixing and painting a car. I also think it could be a $20K car 10 years, maybe less.

D6XW, the XW is white & black.  How that breaks apart in '74 I have no idea.  In the decoding there's no mention of white which doesn't seem right.

If the body is clean, I'd have zero issues giving $10k for it.

Chargerguy74

D6XW are white buckets, no black. The buckets, headliner, and door panels would be white. The carpet, dash and "shelf panel" would be black.

I think I paid 7k for the Wanna bee when I bought it and it was a bondo bucket.  I made the mistake of not going to see it, but it was a 73U code with added air grabber hood.

If it's got a good solid body and frame I think 12k is a decent price for a sunroof car with a bulge hood on it.  You wouldn't be stealing it from the guy but it's a fair price.
