I painted my B7 R/T Silver.  It was silver when I bought 30 years ago.  It just wouldn't have been my car in a another color.

B5 and B7 are love-hate colors.  So, don't second guess your lack of attraction.

I wouldn't have ordered B7 new.  Let the next guy take it back to original.

You will burn in hell! Seriously, it's your car so paint it to make you happy.  :Twocents:

Hmmm, I think it's a damn fine looking car!

It does present better than it actually is  :icon_smile_cool:

Up close its very unrestored.

That so looks like a car I used to have. I miss it. These cars are not so rare that you may not be able to find someone that would trade for a color you like. Or maybe borrow for a while like wifes.

I like this logic.

I love FC7 with white top and interior, make it the way you want it, be different go with Bahama yellow, black top, interior and hood call outs !  :popcrn:

Rosco

For me, if I had a numbers-matching R/T, I would probaby paint it the colour it was from factory, and keep it original.

However, at the end of the day, it's YOUR car.
YOU'RE the one building it, and YOU'RE the one who's going to be driving and enjoying it, so do whatever you want!  :2thumbs:

Personally, I think B7 looks great. But I'm a long way from decided on a colour. B7, GM 'Voodoo' Blue, Blood Orange, Black...
Like someone else said, a charger is cool whatever colour it is!

It will be a factory oem resto.

If you change the color, then it won't be a factory oem resto. If, that's what you're going for.

The black one you posted above is very cool.  This one is another of my favorites.  I would love to paint mine black, but it is done now and I don't want to do a full color change.

my :Twocents: it looks great now  :2thumbs:   why change it , I'd just detail the crap out of it and drive the wheels off it all summer long.white is SO much cooler than black when the suns out

Maybe just drive it for a while and see if the color starts to grow on you.  If it needs a restore then there are always a lot of things you can work on before the paint gets attention.  If there is time to make the decision then take that time.

JB400

What do you want to do to the car?  You're the one that has to look at it, drive it, baby it, pay for it, enjoy it, so, what's on your agenda for the car.

The way I look at it, you're the current keeper of the car.  Let the next guy decide what he wants to do to it.  You need to enjoy the car today.

Your car does look nice :2thumbs:

I want to have fun working on it, restoring it and eventually crusin in it...

I will go with black. You guys are right, I'm not restoring a museum piece. I just needed to think this over out loud. :2thumbs:

No it's not a sin, would the guys on here tell to keep it original if it was say a terrible color combination like green interior and one of the factory yellows, paint it to look like what you dreamt of

Back N Black

When i started my restroration i could not decide on what color, black, red or T7 copper. I looked at all the pics that i had saved in a file folder and 80% of the chargers in my pics were black, so i painted it black. Actually, i have a black truck and my wife has a black car. :2thumbs:

I love the color combo, but it's your car and the color can be changed back by the next owner.

I love blue and white. Everyone else makes theirs black. They hardly made any black ones from the factory but everywhere you turn you'll see one now. You'll be a lot more unique and more people will appreciate the car if you keep it original. In the end, you're the one who has to be happy. It's a big expense to restore a car so you don't want to end up with something you don't even like (because you'll end up selling it at a loss and it would be cheaper just to go find a real black one). Cleaning a car as big as a Charger in black is a royal pain. Black interior is way hotter (miserable even) than a white one - although white interiors have their own cleaning challenges (I have 4 of them).

Yea, what he said. Minus the owning 4 comment.  I bought a black car because it was blue and I am going back to Q5 someday.  Blue and White cars are the cats meow.  :drool5: :Twocents:

Well, the LAST thing I think ANY of us would want to do is hear at EVERY freakin' outing in the car we built to please ourselves, is "Damn, why the hell did you do that to such a fine car!?" by the average Joe and not ness. Mopar people. This is why we ask opinons. I think if your tired and NOT planning to sell it looking for that deep pocketed OEM buyer, then paint whatever you like.

I like the black, be ready though... It's upkeep is murder. Plus it's gotta be straight. Of course this is the case regardless of color..true.. Mine was R7 orig. To do it again I would find a modern more poppy color that resembles it..
I don't think I could spend all the time restoring something only to have it be exactly the same.

Everyone has their favorite colors.  If mine was orginally white top on blue with a white interior like yours, I'd keep it....cause blue and white cars are great.....but that's me.

My car is a numbers '68 R/t.......and is now MM-1 instead of the original JJ-1.   I can't stand Chrysler Gold from '68...it looks like poop.  But that's me.

I couldn't reason painting my car a color that I didn't like, just to keep it original.

Make yours a color you like.

I agree. I recently bought a restored 70 R/T, EW1 with green interior, white vinyl roof, green hood callouts, green stripe. My preference is FC7/black vinyl, black interior. I hesitated on the car, but it quickly grew on me to the point I like it and am proud of the unpopular colour combination. My 2 cents. But at the end of the day, it's your car. Paint the crap out of it if its what you want.
