Ok so I worked out a few problems from my reassembly and was excited to really drive the car. It was a beautiful sunny day. In the back of my mind I was a little worried about getting in a wreak. I was about 20 feet on the main drag and some idiot pulls out right in front of me. I locked up the brakes to avoid slamming into her. My car is Charger red how could she miss it????

She was most likely shaving her legs and texting about it on Facebook at the same time...

This is what attractive causes. Like magnet. Park in an empty corner of a parking lot an see what happens.

I've said it before, and I'll say it again.....

People today don't even know WTF a Charger is, or care what color it is. They are Pompus, arrogant, self-absorbed, intellectually Challenged, idiots that don't care who they run into or what it is they hit/kill in the process.

I did have a pretty good thing happen the other day though....

Was minding my own, driving my "5-over" and all of a sudden, here comes this 2011-2013 Ford Mustank GT 5.0 Flying up my ass. Whips out around me, whips between me and another car barely missing me. Passes EVERYONE in the BOTH lanes in the passing lane. (I guess this moron thinks the way all "fast lane" driver's tend to think). Well, I finally lost sight of him. No sooner than I thought "Where's a damn cop when you need one", I see this State trooper with his turn signal on. I think "Great, now he'll bust ME for my 5-over and let that douchebag go". I see him flying up behind me, I get over, he flies by...WHEW!

About 1/2 mile ahead, what do I see pulled over? Yep.....That Blue Mustang. I rolled by and pointed and laughed. Said "There's no such thing as a "Fast Lane"...Putz's....Sheer dumbasses. And I'm sure he'll refute the ticket saying he wasn't doing every bit of 90 MPH when he flew past traffic in the passing lane.

That is the mentallity you are dealing with today. Stupid Tards who cannot drive. One would think with the price of fuel skyrocketing, they'd slow the F8CK down, but nope, they just drive as crazy as ever. When all but about 5% of new driver's get their driving experience from a Video Game, this will happen over and over and over. And I hear folks touting "Drive these cars, that's what they were meant for"..Um, yeah..I'll be sure and reply in their threads when the front ends of their musclecars are smashed up due to some prick who didn't care is driving like a maniac.

Whats terrible is that while modern cars now require less involvement to drive them, people find other things to do while driving.
If you have power steering, power brakes and automatic transmission, you can drive with one hand and one foot. The other hand could be used holding a 64 oz soda or picking Doritos from a bag. The spare foot can text to friends for those with that sort of skill...
Truthfully, many people are more distracted while driving today than ever before. Phones, phones, phones!!! Yeah, accidents did happpen  before the mobile phone, but the reasons for them were different.  In 1979 my mom was driving a '79 Z28 that was hit by a woman that..."Didn't see her". In 2005 I was hit by a woman that "Didn't see me". I have heard this excuse many times. I have always had colorful cars that stood out in a crowd, so I also was amazed to hear people claim that they didn't see me. More accurately, they DIDN'T LOOK. You can't see if you don't have your eyes open.

Some are still learning how to drive. One of those new hot mustangs was showing how his car works to me as we pulled away from a stoplight. Automatic transmissions don't make sounds like I heard from his car. And loud too.

There was a study done a while back that showed the safer cars get, the more insulated people become and adopt more dangerous driving habits because they feel they can get away with it.    Kind of like - the bigger the helmet and pads, the harder the hit in football.   We're somehow geared to constantly be on the edge of danger no matter what we do.

Take today's 'insulated' driver and put them behind the wheel of a 40 year old 450HP car with ancient suspension and drum brakes... see how long they last.    I think the license process should be 10x more rigorous than it is.   People should have to learn how to correct a loose rear end, avoid obstacles, stop without locking their brakes.  Like, a gauntlet.

Then again, it's likely this would produce a much more dangerous driver, since they'd think 'I can be risky, I'm trained'.   There's no fixing it unless you want to stay home.
