My dad is sort of interested in this car:

Has a 1970 casting of the 383 super commando engine
727 trans
8 3/4 rear end
Exellent body with no rot
Pretty much complete minus carpet headliner and windshield .
Hard to find these 71 s
Has air grabber core hood
Can throw in a set of 14 inch magnum 500 rims with rubber

Price    $4,700.00

It's worth what ever someone is willing to pay...LOL...  :nana: Sorry I couldn't resist... Does it run ??, how's the interior ??, try an offer of $3,500- maybe as high as $4,000 see where that leads... Looks like it could be a great project... it's a Satellite, so it's not worth as much as a RR or GTX, but there's nothing wrong with a nice Big Block Satellite either, just resale cost differences, you will never have any control over...  all the little things are hard to find & when you find most any of them, it will cost a small fortune to get too... hopefully most all the trim & interior pieces are all there... Anyway, sounds like a decent deal, either way, just try to get it for less... Good Luck :Twocents:

like above 3500-4000 but if body is really rust free its worth the full asking price  :2thumbs:.not a RR or gtx but a bitchen body style  to build from, power brakes are a bonus to   :Twocents:  . does it have dash etc    good luck on the purchase

At first glance the asking price seems reasonable, but it depends on how much body work it needs. offer 3-4k see where that leads?

It looks like it's worth the asking price, if there isn't any bondo.  A few minutes with a magnet and offer him $4500, tell him that would cover the new front glass and you'll fix the rest.

Rolling_Thunder

I'd offer $3500 ---  Love that body style - miss the 1972 RR I had.

$3500 in a hundred dollar bills. :icon_smile_big:

But bring $4500 or have that amount ready as it sounds like a good deal at asking price.

if the body checks out bondo free, and all the small stuff;grill, tail lights etc are nice, then the asking price is reasonable, I would surely take it for under 5k.

Check the floors, if there's no rust, worth every penny they're asking.

Definately worthat that. I smell a flip.

My dad is thinking of buying it, getting it driving, windshield, carpet, and headliner, then trying to talk me into trading it for my dart  :icon_smile_big:

I would offer $4000 just to try to save a buck, but its worth every penny of the asking price...  Plus 71 B bodys are cooler than Darts  :Twocents:

Anyone else notice that in THIS picture:

There is the roadrunner head on the grille.

And in THIS picture:

I have someone looking at it today. They will also pull the VIN and check. I really wish I could find a real roadrunner but my luck isn't that good  :-\

I asked for a picture of the interior, never got a reply back with one. The pictures were taken from his cell, the ad was posted from his cell, and his emails are done from his cell. He might not use a real computer  :shruggy:

If I had the spare coin it would be in my yard. This is my father we're talking about and it's not the first time I've had a car like this slip through his fingers. I was hoping the person would look at the car today but it turns out the seller was gone all day so the person couldn't look at it on their way through Sooke. On top of that he's not home tomorrow either.

Get his address, camp out in his front yard, offer what you have for a deposit, start making payments on the rest until you can get the money pulled together... If that doesnt work, you might have to chain yourself to a tree in his front yard, in your underwear, and threaten to not leave until you strike a deal on the car...  :smilielol:  Sorry just giving ideas...  :slap:

Drache

Ok so the person who was going to look at the car on monday couldn't make it but said he'd be in the area this up coming weekend and would look at it then.

I asked the seller for the VIN and some other info about the interior. Said he'd get the VIN when he got home, still haven't heard back about it. He did tell me a few things.

Nothing major just that the car has:

Bucket Seats
Console Shift
Slapstick

I gave the info to the guy on FABO that sent me a complete rear end for the Dart free of charge and even covered building the crate and all the shipping fees after the rear end on the Dart exploded and I didn't have the money for a new rear end.

Now if you think anyone else deserved the first crack at that car let me know....
