I've been looking for a pal for my boy, tried to pick up a couple of older dogs  that are unwanted to keep him company.
It's a win win situation for me, save a dog that would otherwise be put down, they would know the dog goes to a loving home, and company for my boy!

Long story short...here's a bit of an email from today...

"Luna is current on all shots,
worming, micro chipped and examined by a vet. "

"We are also having a lot of work
to do and do not give enough time for Kerry"

"All you're to pay is for Kerry delivery fee to your house
address directly to the delivery company, that's $210,"

Delivery to my house....$210....I can drive from one end of town to the farthest end of town in under an hour....man!

Turns out these people are 1107 Miles / 1782 Km away from me...wonder how they saw my ad....too much!

Its crazy, I just want an old dog to keep my boy company...very simple if ya ask me!

We have a humane society, older dogs put down in 2-3 days....it's sad, they also want $200 for them, that is not an option for me, cant afford it.

Hopefully I'll find one before its put in to this so called humane society!

You'll find you a buddy for your buddy, just got to be a little patient :2thumbs: :popcrn:

Ram07

I will...thats for sure...

Her last reply...

You're a very big idiot, you can't even read and understand. foool

Yes, I'm a fool...not an average fool....one with three "o"s... :icon_smile_big:  Would not give her the $210 for "shipping"

She did offer a free cat tho in the deal...

there are search engines out there that instead of you searching each city & state for a particular object or item, all they have to do is type in what they want to see and every ad from every city & state that has that word or words in it come up. I have some traffic light parts on our local Craigslist up here in NW Washington, I got a cal the other night from a guy in California asking about what I had listed.

I'm just using a local site, not a craiglist type thing...you would have to know it.....it's called Myzer

Northeastern Ontario Community Trading Post...dot com

Another crappy thing these "re-homers" for profit are doing is, stealing loving pets and selling them on Craigslist! Makes me sick! Mess with my animals and they'd be  :2guns: !!!!

Hope you find the perfect buddy for your furry friend. Im looking for a corgi to be my dogs buddy. Guess i will have to go steal Cappy from Bryan!!!  :nana:

Ram07

Ya know sumthin' I just got off the phone with the inhumane society....yup, they have several dogs that are a perfect match for what I'm looking for....all it takes is 200 bucks, and I can have one. I don't have a spare 200 for a dog right now, just thought I was doing a nice thing, afterall....its an old dog....they said no(did offer a donation of 100 bucks), they were gonna load 'em up asnd ship 'em over 3 hrs away from me....or put them down...will never understand! But....that's just me....

Look at the terrible English; these aren't even backyard breeders - they would appear to be Nigerian scammers.   Your $210 dollars would get you zero dogs.

new to me in my parts, anyway...reported them....ad is gone, pics gone, so is the email address

Fred

I'd try an animal shelter. There are plenty of dogs looking for a new and loving home and they've all been tested for temperament too so you know your son will be safe with whichever dog you get from there. The is a fee involved but it's a worthy cause. And it may eradicate these backyard breeders or these creeps that steal family pets to make a profit.

Oh my mistake, I thought you meant your son.  But even so I'd still go with the animal shelter.

Yes but it's well worth it. These shelters pretty much survive on donations (no government funding) and they do a great job.

Oh, I see, thought they were more or less the same thing. We don't have separate shelters here.

regular city shelters put them down after a certain amount of time on the cell block, no kill shelters are run by donations only and limit the kind and number of animals they take at a time so they can take care of them

saving a dog from either type shelter, is well worth it to me  :Twocents:

Tried the shelters...they want 200 for a dog, the hard part is finding an older one...seems no one wants them...put down pretty quick  :-\

I just could not work in one of those shelters that put down dogs and cats after just a few days when their only crime is being unlucky enough to have been picked up or dropped off by some uncaring person! Sooooooo sad and just not my mentality to do something like that!

Charging $200.00 for a "rescue" animal is not right either! I just don't know what to say other than .... people, in general, are uncaring idiots and SUCK! I really pity the unfortunate animals that do not get picked! They did nothing to deserve the death penalty!  I guess it's like Clint Eastwood's character said to Little Billy   "deservin' s got nothing to do with it!"

Fred

I couldn't work in a place like that either. What a waste of life. Being unwanted comes with a death sentence.

I can understand the fee though. You know yourself how expensive a doctor's visit is, the price of medication. These animals are all thoroughly checked over, vaccinated, groomed, micro chipped etc. It all adds up.  The cost is a small price to pay. And most of these shelters get very little if any government backing, they are mostly charity funded.   Besides if you were going to buy from a breeder, the dog would cost you at least 4 times as much.

I would gladly pay $200. to save a life of what generally turns out to be a most affectionate and loyal pet.

The prices here are somewhat high here, but you do get a refund when you spay or neuter.

Ram07

The $200 is worth it in most cases, the dog/cats you get from them are fixed and up to date on their shots. The older ones that someone has given up and already fixed, they say the $200 goes towards the costs of food etc, but seems like they never keep an older dog that long...they gut I tried  to get was 7 yrs old.
Lasted three days in there.
