Nose assembly time.. question on nose to hood seal

I am in the process of assembeling the nose on my Daytona project and have a question on the nose to hood seal, The seal I have hangs over the edge of the latch tray about 5" on each side, should this be trimmed to be even with the latch tray or left alone? Anyone have pics of how theirs looks?
Head lights are working good with the original vacuum pods.
