I was told by a friend of mine that a local auto salvage yard has a 71 383 charger. I went to go check it out and it is a 71 Charger SE, but a 318 car. He wants $1500 and will not part it out. I'm thinking about it. The 318 runs. Has an 8.75 rear, just don't know if it's a sure grip or not. 71 hideaways that is complete. 150 speedo with a clock. Has a black bucket seat with a console slap stick. SE door panels that I was surprised on how nice they are. Even has the front valance chrome no one could find. Floors are rotted; deck lid rotted, doors and fenders rotted but can be workable. Forget the rear ΒΌ's Trunk was not bad and the dutch panel looked good. Here's a few pictures of the car. They also had a 65 Sport Fury that I was going to buy on the spot, until they told me it was a Sandy flood car. Too bad.

Even with the work needed on the '71 that's a great buy.  Good condition, fully assembled hide aways + even an open diff 8.75 rear is worth $1500.

For your area (back east) that looks like a good deal BillyBob.   See if he'll take $1200 for it just for fun.

71SE's are one of my favorite cars. But I don't see the value in that one as a car. With floor that bad I figure the framerails and TBar mount can't be in the greatest shape either. I would keep looking or even spend the same money for a desert car and have it shipped to you.

For $1500 I would buy it in a heart beat, definatly big buck to fix it but parted out its probably worth $5000 :2thumbs:

Well lets see Hide away head lights assembly $1000, 8 3/4 rear $350 open $800-$950 sure grip, 318 engine $200 tranny $150, drive shaft $75 useable interior $100 rallye dash with 150 MPH speedo $250 Etc Etc... Ok I admit maybe not 5K but still profitable no? :shruggy:

I dont have the energy to tackle stripping that for selling parts...........i bet all the parts are beat also

I would be interested in buying the hidden headlight grilles.  My 71 Bee needs them and I believe there is a difference between the 72 grilles I have to fix the Bee and the proper 71's.

I'm not looking to restore it. I was looking maybe to part it out and fund more $$$$ for my Charger. I did real well on that 72 Charger I parted. It's pretty much a shell and I'm still cutting parts off of it. The 71 Charger is restorable. I've seen worst getting restored.
