I'll take it! Still, that was a chunk of money back in 1970.

I didn't have a job yet...  Or a place to put it.
And couldn't drive...

Might as well been free!      :smilielol:
I've never owned anything but a MoPar. Can you say that?

Brand New SRT8 Challenger today? What? Like $60K or something? Like $800/Month in payments and insurance?

Ok, now.....in 1970 $4300.00 was about the same with payments in the $130/month range.

Couldn't afford it then, and still can't afford it now.
" I have spent thousands of dollars and countless hours researching what works and what doesn't and I'm willing to share"

dyslexic teddybear

Almost 6k list..... :o

Good discount, but yeah.....in 1970, that's still a huge chunk of $$$$$

Kinda understandable they were a bit hard for some dealers to move.

As to a new Challenger.....was thinking the same, not much different is it?

:scratchchin:  What surprises me today, is the number of people I know driving 40-50K loaded 4x4 or diesel pickups, with 5k+ of added "upgrades"[usually stupid plastic crap/wheels/tires] and think nothing of it.

Seems a lot more people with $$$ today.

1970Moparmann

Could you imagine IF a person could buy a nice performance car now-a-days for $12k or so..... Life would really be fun....... :yesnod:
My name is Mike and I'm a Moparholic!

The heck with the car. I'd like to go back and have my bones and body feel like 1970 again! Ah, youth is truley wasted on the young.

Raceway is one of the dealerships I bought parts from back in the 70's and 80's.....which we call NOS now - lol.

That is Canadian pricing - which, even then, was more than US pricing.

The original advert has a 6000$ car selling for (just over) 4000$ ...
So like 30% off at that time...

New Challenger SRT is about  50,000$ .....
So lets take 30% off... Now we have a 35,000$ car....

Yeah, right !!! like that will happen.....  *sigh*   :shruggy:

Send me back to 1969....    :2thumbs:
