On Daytonas and Charger 500s...

Which is correct for the taillight panel?

Flat black, satin black, or that textured black "Organisol"?

I've heard various opinions on this...

Is there a final, "correct" answer ?

Maybe a paint code for this?

What did HemiGeno do? I tried to find it on his resto thread,

but there was just TOO much information to try to go through...

They are no different than any other '69 Charger, 318 or 426 Hemi, wing or not.......

Like the document above states - Depends on the plant but Daytona's (Hamtramck) are generally Organosol - St. Louis is usually flat-ish black paint.....must of been a State issue.

Allen - do I recall correctly that your C500 was done with a can of original organisol paint? 
Any other details about it you could provide (code/vender/date)

I've recently read the lengthy thread in the Moparts tech archives that is all over the map for texture, metal flake, paint codes, technique, hoods vs. tailpanels, etc.etc.etc.

What do they mean when they say omit the blackout on dark color cars? Are they omitting the blackout on the whole taillight panel?

Everbody says organisol, but my cars that were built at St.Louis are all smooth flat black.

Anybody have a source for a modern equivilant of Organisol?

I've seen a 68 that was gold that had a silver taillight panel.   Being a 318 car, and the rest of the car was original, I assume that treatment was as well.
