11 inch drum brakes are very dependable

My Charger came from the factory with the 11x3" manual drum brakes with no automaic adjusters. It is an original Hemicar and the fully rebuilt "manual drum" brakes to a great job of stopping the car. Now, I haven't tried multiple 110+mph stops like a dragstrip would demand and I haven't had to "panic stop" the car yet but, do not let anyone tell you manual drum brakes do not work! They work just fine, thankyou!  Ha!

I thought thats what they're supposed to look like

SkiJogg

They used them on pickups  I have had the disc on these early ones and take a drum any day. The 10 inch under fast stops would heat but I never heard of 11 inch ever giving up even under drags .

11's give up if you're leaning on them, mine do ;)  Just make sure you leave enough stopping distance, most definitely they do not perform like disc's, just take your foot off the loud pedal earlier  :icon_smile_big:
