firewall,upper/lower cowls, door hinge pillars, inner fenders, shock towers, lower rad support, door jambs, rockers all toast ? If not rotten cut it up and sell/keep it.

I ask because mine we had to change the inners, both cowls, door hinge pillars. Took it from a rust free donor.

billfury

Cut the rockers and door jams fire wall out. If it's solid. You did a nice gut job. :2thumbs:

Don't know if its worth the effort but perhaps the rear door Jambs, the cross braces behind the rear seat and the steering column bracket.  :shruggy:

The Jambs if i recall are like $200 a side from AMD. Whatever isn't rotten cut it and sell/keep it.

Wollfen

The front pillars are all toast, rotting form the top down and rotting six inches upwards form the bottom, not often you se em that bad, the front cowl is religious now(holy) i took the drives rail out while the passengers is rotten too. Is there much demand for a steering column bracket? The rear door jambs are pretty good i should cut em out huh. i didn't think too many people would need em

Paint it orange and throw it on ebay, that's at least $10K sitting there!

Nah, just paint, bodywork is optional.  The leftovers look fairly straight.   :icon_smile_big:

Too bad the package tray is gone, I could've used it...eventually...if I ever get stupid enough to dismantle my car.

The door jambs usually rot down in the corner where they meet the rocker.

How bad is the driver's inner fender right below the battery tray? I need a patch section. :2thumbs:

Just curious, What year was this thing? any idea what options or original colour combo?  :shruggy:

Firewall - keep (this can be used to patch other firewalls and inner kick panels.)
Rear door pillars - keep
rear seat cross brace - keep
Wheel wells - AMD does a good job so trash yours
Lower radiator support - keep
Steering wheel bracket -  :shruggy:

I really can't see anything else that interests me or would have interested me when rebuildng my car.

Wollfen

Yah I'm going to cut out the rear door jambs for sure as they are rust free, I'm also going to cut out a section of the sill too, i do need a piece for my own car that took road damage.
She is a 1968 model car originally a 383 car four speed and green in color.
Ill take the firewall out for anyone wanting to convert to non AC.
The inner fenderwell on the drivers side isn't too bad but was rusty down the bottom edge, i will take a pic of the battery area and post it tomorrow.
I'm off to Farmington raceway NC on May 11 to the mopar show on and will drag a few pieces along to the swap meet too with a few AMD panels.Ill see what I can fill my truck up with.

Ah, the old 383/4 speed 68. Too bad it couldn't have been saved because it's a rare combo. Still got the Vin? There's a member here who's trying to keep track of these, and I'm especially interested in the 2bbl version.

:2thumbs: If a 68 Charger registry ever happens to appear we're hoping to document as many as we can. But this mythical registry has been talked about for probably 10 years now.
