440 fuel lines for a Carter AVS

Would need some advice or pictures on how the fuel lines should be properly hooked up for my -68 R/T with the original Carter AVS 4429S setup. I got a new fuel vapor separator, new 5/16" fuel lines and the KV fuel hose with correct clamps.

From the fuel pump to the vapor separator things look all right, just needs to adjust the outlet from the pump a bit.

But the fuel line from the carburetor does not "line up" good with the vapor separator output. And the fuel line sits very tight to the valve cover and distributor. Maybe I got the wrong fuel line? :shruggy:

Any clues?
