Might try jumping it across the starter relay, if the battery is good.  Just make sure it is in nuetral.

thx husk she is a manual 4 speeder though theres just no click at all and when i wired her for a jump and nothing still.

how do i jumper across the starter?

That is if your Nuetral start switch is not working.  It would not apply to a manual trany.  But you go to the starter relay and place a screw driver accross touching the post with the battery cable and the post with the wire to the starter at the same time.

Hammer+starter

Can't sleep after a 12 hour shift I'm gonna go hammer her starter and see what happens

Just remember, even with the problems, you won't "Hammer", OR jump the "Relay" on a brand new Car. but, they are selling them every day.

for me (on an oldsmobile) my starter solenoid got so hot from being next to the exhaust manifold it de-soldered itself, i didnt have a strong enough soldering iron, so i just bought a new solenoid  :Twocents: had the same symptoms, no click, no sound, battery was fully charged.

good timing with this thread.   picked up our car yesterday from Painter, jumped old crap battery, ran for a while, put on truck for 10 minute drive, unload....dead..... went to NAPA today and got the right battery!  fired right up!!  can you tell which is the old?

Sounds like dirty solenoid contacts, or simply a dirty connection.  When it the last time you cleaned all the connections?   :shruggy:
I've never owned anything but a MoPar. Can you say that?

That was my hunch after reading the first post.
Have you tried checking your battery connections, making sure they are clean? And the ground?

Sounds more to me like the bendix was stuck in the ring gear which will not allow the starter to work. The "slight tick" you heard was the bendix retracting back into the starter allowing it to start working again.
