1970 Charger 500

I'm sorry if this has already been posted.... :-[

I was thumbing through my Digital Cable looking for upcoming episodes of Overhaulin' and found that
Tuesday Feb. 28th, Overhaulin' is doing a '67 Charger!
Let's see if Foose keeps it stock (ish)

I'm sorry but I think all 1st gens need to be "Fooseified"

Lets all pray its not a hemi car!

It will be interesting to see. Hopefully he won't mess with the interior too much. I love those interiors.

hemihead

He'll Foose it up like like every other Mopar they've done.Look out for a 2 tone paint job!

Yeah, it has been posted before, but it was several months ago with no info about air times.  There are some pics in this link.  So far everyone's pretty close: two tone paint, huge wagon wheels, hacked up interior, etc....generally foosed up.  ::)

When he Fooses the other brands its not painful. But when he Fooses a Mopar, its like icycles through the heart

doctorpimp

I don't like his style.  That show has made his stuff seem run-of-the-mill now, and the 2 tone etc is being copied.
It wouldn't be so bad to have it done à la Pimp My Ride - where he could do 8o's Malibu's and 2.2 Chargers etc.
Leave the 60's and 70's stuff for enthusiasts.
Plus, you know by now that the show is losing the surprise factor.  IF you're a car guy and IF your car has been "stolen" you can bet that Foose is involved.  I feel sorry for the dude who actually gets his car stolen, but thinks he's on TV...OUCH.

I did like when he put that crate Hemi in the RR convertable :icon_smile_big:
I would let him do that to my car and then put on proper wheels, interior, etc and paint it properly  ;)
I wouldn't argue about free stuff...

dodgeboy67

ok im sorry .....i must be going blind....i didnt notice it was already posted

TruckDriver

He pretty much ruined the looks of  the car again. I hate pimp wheels, shaved door handles & mirrors. And the two tone paint looks  :puke: on a '66-'67.

dodgeboy67

the paint i can  live with, ......but those wheels :puke:.........and why is it necessary to shave all of the door hardware and move the bumpers in ? .......ohhhhhh i know so itll go faster

the more i think about it , i dont like the paint either

but just for the record, ive seen foose do some nice work too, he really is an innovator...................

alot of those T.V. car are better off left alone,.. especially the Boyd and Pimp my ride cars... there have been some that were absolutly screwed up, like the yellow first gen mustang, the red Sting Ray and several of the monster garage cars...
But, the one car i really loved was the black POLARA done last yr. on boyds' show for the Kid Max.... I think it was called MAX HEMI, truly an awsome piece, it was sold at B.J. recently...

Paint doesn't look TOO bad.  I have yet to see the interior, but, IMO, the stock interior is what makes the 1rst gen special.  Wheels, too damn big.  And, are they supposed to be some kind of updated Rallyes or something?
Never underestimate the power of stupid people in large groups.  Especially if they have access to the internet.

With regards to Overhaulin'...  The poop is that none of the stolen cars are a surprise.  Before they touch the cars the owner signs off on a contract allowing them to work on the car.  Maybe they swipe the car and then get the reactions on film, but before any modifications to the car take place they owner is in on the gig.  They did a couple cars at the Kaeser Blower/Compressor shop in California last year and I am freinds with the east coast sales manager, in fact he used to work for me.  This information does not come as a complete surprise to me as I was thinking that I'd be livid if I were the  owner of the 71 Challenger R/T or the 68 Mustang GT that got 'Foosified' if I hadn't agreed to the work being done.

The guys at the Kaeser shop were able to talk to Charlie (American Hot Rod, now works for Foose) and he said the cars get basically done in the time frame, but then are kept by Foose for a time period to finish up the details on the car.  Not only that, the cars also have to be available to TLC or Foose for public appearances.

All of this is as told to me, but it seems logical.
