If your Classic Charger has a name what is it and how did you come up with it?

Well, my car is under restore but I'm thinking now about possible name. Car was purchased from Ohio but originaly was Georgia car. And I'm located in the southern part of Croatia.
So for me "Southern Comfort" sounds good (even in my local language).

Mine has no name yet. I don't really want to think up one, I just want it to sort of happen if that makes sense. Kind of like the American Indians who basically let their children name themselves through their actions.

That sounded a little deeper than I meant it to. Let's just say I want it to come on its own when it comes.

That's an interesting theory Bull.  I like that.  If I had followed that one my car woud have been named "Leaks Much Fluid."  I've never been much for naming cars, but lately I seem to be calling mine "sunnuvabitch" quite a bit.

My wife named mine.  It's Chargie  :icon_smile_cool:

Let me clarify by saying I'll probably try sticking to the more positive aspects of the car when choosing a name.  ;) Right now I'll probably have to call it Money Pit.

My friends call the 67, the "White Hat".  I usually call it "Rusty".

PocketThunder

For now its The Turd Car.    i brought home my '69 500 that is T7 Bronze and Rust.   my spouse came out of the house, looked at it and said "it looks like a big brown turd" then went back inside.   It was December and 10 º outside...   but i think it'll be "the 500"

the 68 doesnt have a name yet, its PP1, white interior, gonna be my spouses car so i guess we'll give it a girls name.

I do have a white 89 Ram that we call........Whitey!

My wife calls it the "other" woman. I'm with Bull. I'll wait until something comes up in mind. Hopefully something positive. Once in a while I find myself calling it the "R/T".  If I named it and start using the name around the house, I think my wife will probably flip. She's commented in the past to her friends that the Charger is like another woman. One of her hot girl friends said "at least he's not cheating on you, the Charger will keep him home". I could'nt believe her friend said that. I made believe I did'nt hear it. My car is going through full restoration and the money is pouring out, she's not to happy about that even though I'm working a second job to pay for this. At Carlisle she started coming around after seeing what these cars looked like after being restored.

My "70 is Gina.

She got that name in honor of Gina Gershon:

Just something about that mouth.   :icon_smile_big:

The "69 is named Jessica.

She ended up with that name because I used to know a total b*tc# named Jessica in high school.

Since the "69 quite often has the same attitude, it was only natural.

On a good day the '69 is called "The Charger", or the "'69 Charger". Bad day it is called "The money pit".

The '68 on a good day is called "The other Charger", or "68 Charger". Bad day it is called "Parson's special", or "Bodywork by Pineland" after a local mental institution called Pineland.

because of the temporay brain transplant (318 drivetrain) and the black and white butt stripe paint job, it looked like skunk, smoked from the tires and small block headers, smeled like rubber and oil, roared just like the original Frankenstien's monster..etc.. the name jsut seemed so right so it stuck..
though sometimes i call her the "Parade-Float" cause so many folks wave...

Ah, where do I begin.......
I found the car about 10 years ago in Omaha,NE. It was sitting behind a body shop, 4 flat tires [4 different rims] no eng/trans, with a bunch of old crunched body parts from different cars piled on top of it. Two hours later, I had it unburied, and loaded into my trailer heading for Vegas. My ex wife took one look at it and called me an Idiot. [gotta love the support] There it sat in Vegas untouched for about 6 years, till the divorce papers showed up! She tried to take it from me in court. Anyway, I'm rambling.....

never thought of it.  Growing up, my friends and I reserved names for shitbox cars.  the good ones never got names.

the cadoo-shitty caddy someone had.
tortous-shitty taurus I had
glo-shitty mazda glc a guy had (his girl thought the "C" was an "O")
the imp-shity impala I had.
the bu-shitty chevelle malibu I had

The best one was a guy who had a putrid green 77 2 door lesabre.  that one got Fenway because It was a green monster.

The guy before me names my car 'cherry charger'  he never said it, but when going through a box of crap in the trunk, I found a custom license plate frame that said "cherry charger" on it.

I guess you could say my car may have a name.  because I am always working on it, friends have occasionally called it 'project cherry charger'

In my case it depends who you ask....

If you ask my Daughter It's called the "Bait Box" (because it attracts boys)
If you ask my Wife It's called the "Money Pit" (because it's always something)
If you ask little kids looking at it at the shows it's the "Bat Mobile" (li'l creeps)
I really havent given it too much thought... Was thinking about "The Pharaoh" once but sounded corny... Still thinking about it.
