i cant remember if how the lights go in the rear. from what i remember two of the lights are brighter than the others. do they go to the outside or the inside of a 69?

You will have 3 bulbs per side, two of the bulbs will be double filament style, those go in the two outer sockets on each side. The inner bulb will be a single filament on each side. The "brighter" that you are referring to is the brake & turn signal lighting up. When just the parking lights are on, all 6 should be equal brightness.

On my 70, I made all 3 on each side use 1157 bulbs, so there will be 3 turn signals & six brake lights when braking or signaling

You know, I have thought about doing that before on my 69....I got a couple of outer sockets in my box of extra electrical parts that I cut off an old harness I had. Just think it would look better if all lights brighten when braking/turning.

i like it! so all you do is put in all 1157 bulbs?

You will have to get 2 sockets and wire them in and do away with the sockets that have the 1156 style bulb in them. The sockets you will need to do what is said above will have to be made for the 1157 style bulbs with the double filament instead of the 1156 single filament style bulb. I have thought about doing my 69 this way but haven't gotten around to doing it.

Or you can do what I did, install sequential tail lights and utilize all three per side.  Go to http://www.webelectricproducts.com/products.htm and scroll way down and you should see a few 2nd gen Chargers (You may be able to search "Randall" and find it quicker).

You can melt the lenses by running 1157's in the inner most sockets.

unless you ride the brake all the time, the lights are not gonna be on for that long of time to melt the lenses...I have had the two extra bulb conversion done to my car since the mid 90's.....no issues

That's the first time I've heard of melting lenes.  No issues here either and I use three 1157s per side.

Hoping someone can help...I have a 66 dodge charger and I have working turn signal lights but not brake or tail lights. I have checked the bulbs (1034's all new), checked fuse and its ok but still no brake lights or tail lights.  Any suggestions???

A383Wing

bad brake light switch, bad turn signal switch, bad connection under column...bad fuse box connection at fuses

just a start...
