My daughter's car will not start. Ran fine yesterday. Its a 2000 Concorde with the 3.5L engine. It cranks strong but doesn't fire. Has a full tank of gas. Seem to be able to smell gas under the hood. I'm not sure how long she cranked it before she called me. I do not have a scan tool or the time to spend doing much troubleshooting. Any quick and dirty checks I can do before I call a tow truck? Any suggestions will be greatly appriciated!

make sure she is getting spark to any of the cylinders.

secondly, do they have separate coil packs to each bank of cylinders or something to that sort?  if they do not then the coil may not be getting power.  if that is so, you have to check the fuses in the engine electrical box.

Yes the engine has coil packs on each plug? Whats the best way to check spark? I know how to do it on my 69 Charger no problem!

I just went out and as I cranked it I pumped the gas pedel and it started. It ran rough for a minute then seemed to smooth out. The engine has 53,600 miles on it.At what milage should I change the plugs? I have a new set of Champion RC12PEC5 plugs for it to put in.  I wondering about the quality of the gas I just filled it up with. Any more suggestions guys??

My wife's 95 LHS with a 3.5 did the same thing it was after a cold spell. The plugs fouled out and  I had to change the plugs back to Champions from Bosch that I had tried the last tuneup. She has not had the problem again. The car now has 102000 miles and I had to change the intake plenum gasket at 100,000.
