"Burnt" 70 Charger 500

Call me retarded.. but what exactly are they bidding $1700 on?? My buddies 70 charger 500 burned last year(i used to own it). it was red, pretty rare 1 of 109 383 3 speed manual cars. his still had NICE fenders and mint grill/bumper. burned from the engine back right in his driveway. Could have bought it for $1500 and i couldn't justify it. This car looks worse.. What would you even do with that car?

 the blue car lil windle used to own sold here locally and was burnt just like this car ,  granted it had a hemi transplant and tremec 5 speed so worth more
   it is now all done and back on the road

XP29C0C145242 is listed as the VIN.  It must really be XP29G0G145242 (common), or possibly XP29C0G145242 (very rare, 28 made, but doubtful on this one as it has a 318 engine).....

What is that spring that is laying across the base of the steering shaft? It can be seen in the engine compartment photo.

That is just horrible to look at. 

Judging at those pics the hottest point appears to be in the firewall/dash area. It is rearward of the engine. Most likely an electrical/dash fire.
Can't stress this enough, but always ALWAYS disconnect your battery after shutting off and parking the car!

If the heat was that intense to cause a hood spring to lose it's tension & warp like that, consider what it has done to the thin sheetmetal.

It's the new test for Bondo.  Everything else burned except the Bondo on the quarter panels.

That's one thing I've always had a habit of doing with my old cars....when I park them in the garage, I disconnect the battery, always.

I don't understand why anyone would pay that money for that car. The structure has been weakened by the fire. If you look, you can see every panel that has been burned is badly warped. I don't even see 1700 worth of parts.
