26 y/o suspect dead & the younger brother 19 y/o suspect on the run, killed campus cop & wounded a police officer, car jacked a Mercedes SUV throwing grenades/bombs & in a big gun fight with police... Watertown is shut down, both liberal college students here, both brothers from Chechnya, Russia, supposedly Muslim converts, both been here for a while "2004 I think they said", both educated in the Boston/Cambridge/Watertown area's, 26 y/o was a 2nd year medical student, he had been granted citizenship 9-11-2011... his father threatens the US that if his other son is killed "all hell will break loose"... the apple doesn't fall too far from the tree it sounds like....

And that there is what's wrong with this country. He states that if his other son is killed here, "All hell will break loose" ...Wonder what happens if he stays in his own country, breaks the law, and gets killed there? Will "All hell still break loose?" You come here, you break the law, and you get shot. NOW, you want to threaten the USA?

I dont think being "captured alive" is very high on the cops priority list for this little fugitive terrorist. Oh by the way, the docs at the hospital the older brother dead terrorist went to said he had too many bullet holes in him to count. The cops at least got his capture done right.

I typed that comment on a tablet and it sucks.

The doctors at the hospital the older brother, suspect #1, was taken to said he had too many bullet holes in him to count. Meaning the cops had no intention of taking him alive. If one bullet will kill, one hundred will kill him more? I don't blame the cops for unloading on him if that is what happened and his wounds were not self inflicted from pipe bombs or the like that he was reported to be throwing at the cops.

As for the younger brother, suspect #2, I would think the cops would have preferred to do the same to him, but were more than likely instructed to take him alive. Cant question a dead man nearly as well as an alive one.

The comment  "The cops at least got his capture done right." I value a dead terrorist more than a living one. He is done, dead. We don't have to wait years on the publics dime for trial and execution. Kudos to the cops.

The only reason they opened fire on the older brother is because they were in a fire fight.  Over 200 rounds exchanged and a few homemade explosives thrown as well.  It's the police's job to make the situation safer, but it's always their intentions to bring in suspects alive.  They had no choice but to shoot the first suspect, he made that decision for them when he opened up on them.  The younger one was wounded, but being that he showed less of a threat, he's alive.  Special ops caught him off guard.

Either way, now the younger brother is a puppet for the justice system.  He'll be declared insane and there will be a mock trial.  He'll get put in a resort for the rest of his life at your expense.

He is now in the federal system. His crime is punishable by death. It all depends on how many appeals he can get, if he even asks for appeal. Insanity will be hard to get since so many of his school mates have already stated he was a normal kid. Personally, without knowing more about him, I would think his older brother convinced or coerced him to do this. I would even speculate the Dad knew full well what there intentions were. If the Dad never comes back to the US I would say he is just as guilty. Either way at 19 the young terrorist should have known better, and he is a citizen of the USA. No outside, say Russian, influence involved. He is ours to try, convict, and punish as per US law. Same as McVeigh.  Sad thing is at 19 he made such a horrible choice he will never see the light of day again, until death do him part.  :flame:

the only problem I see is that those two kids are probably just a couple of pawns in the bigger picture

What have we learned?

These two terrorists wanted to live. They were not suicide bombers. That gave us the advantage. We could hunt them down like dogs and kill them in the streets. Advantage USA.

If they were suicide bombers it would be a whole different story. We would need to read the play book Isreal uses. That will once again change our way of life forever. I pray that day never comes, although I believe it will. Advantage terrorist.

We tend to ignore the outside world as much as we can. We try to shelter our children and ourselves from what is really going on outside of our borders. We like to play with our technology and vacation in the sun thinking the world is a wonderful place, and it is for us. But not so for so many people in the rest of the world who hate us for who we are and what we believe and the way we live.

Democracy breeds individualism, which breeds ingenuity, which breeds success, which breeds wealth and others in the world just hate that. They want us to suffer and die. That is the real truth. Ask yourself how long will this last for us, and our children?

They will squeeze him, as others, for all the info they can.. Some may argue this, but most would not like what they would find out if their cage were rattled here.

I think the movie was A FEW GOOD MEN.  YOU CAN'T HANDLE THE TRUTH.. That is much more fact than fiction. But the only time people call for that (SQUEEZE) is when something has happened on our soil. Close to home. To someone we know..  The ultimate job of government is to keep as many of it's people safe as possible and at pretty much any cost. Some just don't want to know or believe that... It's a World full of cruel greedy people.

IMHO it would have been better to waste the 19yo and get the older one alive.

The older one might have known more when it came time for interrogation.  He also might have lived with more guilt about the younger one getting killed than vice versa.

stripedelete

You're right he may have known more, however, he may have been less likely to give it up.

My guess is these two will not amount to more than Dylan Klebold and Eric Harris or the DC Sniper(s):  A sociopath with a brainwashed accomplice.

What have we learned?

So far we have learned that the dead older brother was known by the FBI & even Russia warned us about him....

http://news.yahoo.com/russia-asked-fbi-investigate-boston-bomb-suspect-2011-182116158.html

We've learned that their mother is a thief....

http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-2311653/Boston-bombings-Mother-Boston-bombing-suspects-arrested-year-stealing-1-600-worth-clothes-Lord--Taylor.html

As with the 911 highjackers, our government knew that they all were up to something; all the warning signs were there, yet nothing was done to get them ahead of time. What is wrong with our numerous government agencies and what is wrong with "our" mindset that we keep letting undesirables into this country and just keep handing them them freebies?  ::)

This guy spells it out right......

That Malvo kid did a plea deal which did away with the death penalty.
