I agree.  If he had a gun it would be worse.  Just like if he had a bomb or plane to crash into the school it would be worse.  We need to stop these idiots before the pick up any weapon or tool that can cause harm.   The signs are there with most these nut jobs, we just need to start acting on them sooner.   :Twocents:

That's the real problem...we have restrictions in place...if doctors judges, local law enforcement and parents would do what they are supposed to none of these nut jobs would have be able to commit the crimes they did.....quit blaming the gun...or the knife...or airplane what ever.....these happen because laws aren't enforced or parents turn a blind eye to the obvious.....

Psychiatric patients that are violent, & those that should be patients, will cost taxpayers money to diagnose, house, treat & care for. There used to be many facilities that did this, but little by little the budgets for these places dwindled because it was decided there are better things to spend money on, or just not spend money at all. The budget problem was solved by letting them out on the street to blend into society & fend for themselves. (That worked quite well.) Now it's obvious that there is a small epidemic of these violent whackoloons that are trying to out do one another with how many they can kill.

The reality is it can't be fixed, but I bet the violence could be decreased if there was a treatment plan & a budget for it.

An exacto knife is just like a shank in the pen.  Had the perp known how to use it correctly, it would have been deadly.  I'm just glad that it wasn't.

The gun/anti-gun argument will always be another distraction in telling the public what is the most important thing to worry about while politicians, media, banksters & corporations continue to put our money in off shore tax havens.

The distraction is to keep the public unaware of the silent tax, inflation.   :Twocents:  (two cents is all I have left)

I called this sh*t long before "Bullying" became a popular subtitle in the schools today. WAY back around 1987. I think I remember telling one of my CLOSE teachers who I thought of as a father figure, that "How many kids have to do violence to get the point across that F8ckin' with someone isn't the smartest thing to do?"
He replied: "Until it becomes front page, ......nobody cares."

Bullying is a Frankenstein monster, as you never know what will end up happening to both the bully or the target.  Case in point:  I originally got into science as a means to protect myself from bullies in junior high school and then it lead to a career in something that I love.  I won't give away most of my secrets, but I was a master with toxic substances, as I had the resources that a 11 year old kid should never have.  I only used it against others once (a natural toxin from certain plants that I have mentioned about before) and I decided that it was not needed to get the point across further with them.  Since then, I have been promoting science for the achievement of humanity in my area of chemistry.  Granted, I had a much different mindset than most people, as they would have used guns, knives, etc. to get revenge.  Not everyone can take negative and turn it into something positive when the chips are down....

Chad, you seem to be a very smart man with good rational thought.   Now go buy yourself a gun.    :nana:  just playin.    There will always be Wars always be fights always be murders.   There always has been and always will be.   I remember a story from about 100 years ago of a nut job that killed 6 children with an axe.  AN AXE!    That's not even a weapon.   A sick mind will use anything available to inflict anger and pain.   That's a fact you can take to the bank my friends.

Thank you, Skip.  It is a curse sometimes, as I still have a creative side that is always tinkering about things (both good and evil) combined with my analytical side.  It just happens when I least expect it.   I struggled with the why it happens for some time, until I realized it is part of human nature to want to destroy each other in some fashion.  I was concentrated on the bad ones when I was growing up, but that was me using revenge as a fuel for motivation in my mind.  As time passed, so did the thirst for revenge on those bullies, but it left a mark that I still occationally see.  One thing I have learned is that you can not just unthink an idea that you create, especially a very evil one. You may forget it for some time, but it will always be there when you least expect it, nor want to think about it, it is still there.  On a side note, I did find a partial way around this: I have discovered that I can code those type of ideas in my head using a series of songs, so that they will only be fully remembered with those keys in place when I need them.  Wierd how a mind can work....

While working on the Charger the other day I was thinking about the decline of morality in the US. Other than a few issues (one that Lincoln dealt with) I traced the decline to the results of our efforts in WWII. Men left to fight, women left home to work in the factories, all of which was essential to victory but it should have gone back to the way it was before. Divorce rates spiked after the war after staying reletively flat between 1916 and 1940. Prices began to adjust to two-income families, further making it difficult for mothers to stay home. Divorce rates began climbing, which most experts agree is very hard on children. Those children got married and perpetuated the decline into the 60s when the hippie movement began and really screwed things up. Now a huge number of people don't want to even bother with creating a stable family environment. Too many people only care about themselves today. They don't cate that the national debt is $16.8 trillion as long as they get their welfare check. They don't care about the demise of others as long as they get what they think they're entitled to. Rich or poor, scum is scum. There is no cause greater than what I want right now, basically is how the ideology goes. Man has become his own God.

Dont hate to say it, because its the truth.  We are already Rome.  Bull is correct, we are on the second or third generation of people who want to be taken care of by the Government.
