i see cruise control unit. :scratchchin: i do not care for the steering wheel.. :eek2:

Montreal Wing Car

That car is local to me, it is well-done as far as clones go... It's got a new Hemi very well-built by a reputed local shop. He's actually the guy who bought my Bird in the 80's, and had a few real Wing cars over the years, so this one is very well detailed, at least on the exterior...
100x better than the other red one that was also for sale here a couple of weeks ago...

Very sharp car, beautiful color combo, only lacking a 4 spd to be perfect, not sure if Dana, but likely not.   Wonder what his reserve is, probably 60K+.  Big hassle importing one to US, I know there is no customs duty, but lots of paperwork and fees for custom agents to get into this country.  Wish he was in the US.

Daytona Guy

The Hemi costs 25K when it is all said and done (as I well know). So this car is selling for 40K for a very nice build. He is not overpriced at all - it should sell fast. After my build - I would much rather buy that one, than build another one. 65K with 30K down, by the sale of your own Charger - and 35K loan - for 475.00 a month for 6 years, you get a HEMI Daytona - really doable. I would guess in 5 years that car is worth 75K. Great investment. It is like putting 475.00 a month in a savings account.

I like the auto - I would change the interior, wheels to 18's, drop it down, change the wing to mine :) and dress up that engine bay.

No one is even bidding on it, 40K is a good starting bid, boy, ebay is sure a tough crowd!  At first I thought this was the scam artist trying to pass off his Daytona with the 500 tags, but realized it wasn't.

I'm not sure if there are any fees. I've contacted customs on the us and Canadian side about bringing my Daytona over. I haven't picked it up yet but with as old as the car is and the fact it was built in the USA I've been told there's no duty or importation fee. Also due to its age you can import it yourself and not threw a registerd importer. I'll find out in a few months when it's time to pick mine up.

It's classified as an "American car returning" and as you said there are no duties...just the $20 or so for the customs paperwork.  It's a bunch more cumbersome to go the other way, yes.  To get our Daytona titled in Ohio, we needed the customs paperwork (they did it for us at the Niagara Falls crossing station,) an out of state inspection, the title and a notarized bill of sale.  And that was a car which was originally sold in Montreal.  We just picked it up with a truck and trailer ourselves.

And you'll freak out when you see a Quebecois title!

WINGIN IT

Looks nice.
I always wondered why more clone cars are not manual shift though.
While there are some auto lovers, it typically makes it more marketable if you ever sell.

I do like the red with white stripe...  :drool5:  to me, those 70 side markers just don't look right....and the latch tray doesn't look like its attached to the core support...  :shruggy:

That's typical of people here, they still think they can get a cheaper base and do it themselves for less... Not much money around for expensive toys... I am desperately trying to raise some capital right now... One option might be selling the Hemi afterwards to recoup some of the investment...

The DAYTONA is not tall enough - too small lettering I think. No big deal.

Nice car but I would ditch the air cleaner and the steering wheel. And since it is a clone I would put some big rubber and some period correct mags on it. :icon_smile_big:
