Hey guys, silly question I know; finishing the car up, and have installed the fuel tank vent tube; as you know, it goes from the connection on the top of the filler neck tube, through the truck floor at the rubber gasket; my question is, where does it go when it passes through the trunk floor? Does it go to the fuel tank sending unit, as there is a smaller diameter connection spike there below the 5/16 fuel line connection?

I thought it just vented to the atmosphere under the trunk floor.

:yesnod: yep, just vents through the floor, which I think is actually inside the frame rail if I remember correctly... :scratchchin:

Thanks guys; in that case, can anyone tell me what the second hose attachment point is for on my fuel tank sending unit? It has a connection on the top that the flex fuel line connects (5/16"), and then there is a smaller connection below that for a 1/4" hose. This one has me stumped???

Thanks! Never would have guessed it came all the way from the engine bay back to the tank like that.

anybody got a schematic on how that line runs, from the fuel separator back to the sending unit? Curious how the line is routed!

Hey guys;
Dug through the last of my parts and I realized I didn't have any of the parts for a fuel vent line; then I realized I wouldn't of had one because my car is a 383 car. Soooooo, I went with the larger fuel line and sending unit, and that is why the sending unit has the vent line tube connection.
My question is; being that my car is a 383, can I just block off this vent line connection at the sending unit? If so, should I just use a short piece of fuel line with a plug in it?

Yes you can. I did exactly the same thing with my sending unit. Works a treat.
