Help with location - possibly BC or Alberta?

Going through my grandparent's slides. Neither one of them is around to ask so I'll bring the question here as to where these were taken.

The closeups could be at a house here in Spokane but the distance pictures look similar and like a lodge in BC or Alberta...

Look up glacier national park.  I think it will match a number of these.
Who in their right mind would say

"The science should not stand in the way of this."? 

Science is just observation and hypothesis.  Policy stands in the way.........

Or maybe it protects us. 

I suppose it depends on the specific case.....
